I used to be an AMD fan. It was the better brand a few years ago. However, since Nvidia cards adopted the Physx and CUDA systems, and now perform much better with tessellation thanks to their dedicated tesselation and streaming processors. They're also cheaper and faster now than AMD cards - a 300€ GTX 570 out-performs even Crossfire setups, like double Radeon 5830s, for a lower price. AMD cards aren't bad, but now Nvidia's the best. I'm sure it'll change soon, though - it's just a cycle.

Really? Do we need another ATI vs nVidia war? They are both good, they are both equal. Sometimes nVidia has slightly better cards for the money, sometimes it's nVidia. Remember ATI's 2900 vs nVdia 8800? Remember the GTX 4xx vs ATi 5xxx?

Why would they be dumb enough to put EXTRA features in the PC version? Sure computers can be more powerful than consoles (especially a few years after the games release) but most companies try to stay away from PC ports for piracy reasons.

The stunts in JC2 place it apart from virtually any other game! If you have not played it at this point, you definitely have to proceed over to JC2DownloadXcom (replace X with . ) and grab the 100 % free copy of the game. It's well worth the dl. Believe me, you will definitely like it!

You do have a point about the price. The ATi Radeon HD 5870 delivers about the same performance as the GTX 480, and the 5970 definitely outdoes the GTX 480, however it costs another $200.

nVidia also comes with some software that ATi cards don't come with, I think. Like PhysX, but, sadly, there aren't many games that support it. D:

although you will need a pretty new graphics card my pc runs it at about 17fps

Well, except that you're you wouldn't be rendering Gears of War 2 in 3D. It's the TV that's doing the 3D. As apposed to Nvidia 3D vision, that *does* render the games in 3D.

Plus, I've heard that the 3D televisions don't do 3D that well, ironically enough.

Oh, just fucking great. Nvidia is basically saying "When we saw this game we knew we had to bribe the developers to make it run better on Nvidia." Just like they've done with Age of Conan, and the most outstanding example is The Saboteur, didn't work on any ATI cards. Even though I hate Nvidia now, I'm probably getting a Nvidia card next, I just can't take it anymore. I'm sorry ATI.
