Final fantasy 12 was a great game. It probably should have been a spin off, and the story was awful, but the graphics, scale and gameplay were all amazing. One of the PS2s best games. FFXII>FFXIII+FFXIII-2

FF12 is garbage but not because of the content in this video. I remember when I got to PLAY the ROLES of the characters in a turn-based environment, not set up a series of scripts to let the game do it for me in a real-time one. If I wanted to play a game that wishes it were an MMO, I'd go play a god damn MMO. Both the final boss and Yiazmat are ludicrously easy. Anyway, I'm going to go back and play FF9, a game that runs circles around this trash.
I think this ff had one of the strongest storylines since ff6. The story in ff7 sucked balls since it was too character focused, and ff8 and 10 suffered from the same problem. Final fantasy has always been more focused on the world than the characters, and the story has been focused on events in that world and warring empires/factions rather than characters (see ff1 - 6). It's only the recent ff games that have resorted to the kind of emo faggotry fanboys have grown accustomed to (ff7 8 10 13)

ff12 is for hardcore gamers. The overall storyline felt lacking and the "love" aspects of the story weren't handled well at all. However, the game had some of the greatest voice acting and dialogue in any game. Gameplay was deep and rewarding, if you don't like the license system try the international version which gives you the option of "jobs".
Penelo and especially Vaan were annoyingly wasted characters with the worst dialogue and mannerisms. Brought the whole game down.

FF12 is epic, despite some elements on which opinions may differ. Its outstanding in almost all aspects and even graphics are one of the best, with over a good 140 + gameplay hours, it cannot suck! Infact when I type this I am playing it right now, and still have to defeat each and every rare monster, and two big daddys, Yiazmat and Omega! Thos who are fans of ff12 cheers!

@ericbana191 yea a very deceiving game how it looks, hell i thought the game would suck when my friend's dad bought it for me but then I played it and it blew my mind! This became my favorite FF due to the exploration, secret monsters, side missions, espers etc. The only thing partially wrong with this game (imo) is the main character vaan because it seemed like ash was the main character so his role was wierd, but this is my fav of the series

I know what you mean. I hated playing as Vaan. He was boring. One scene has him asking Fran, "Uh, how old are you?" Come on. The writers should've had fun with it. Of course she ignored him. The game play was better, but the jobs were tedious. I was bored with the ventures they sent a ho out on. Ultimately, I didn't like any of the characters' personalities enough to spend more than 8 hours with them. But I forced myself. After about 20 hrs - I'd had enough.
@SweetUniverse Future FF games could learn alot from the combat and exploration system in FFXII, since it was probably the best there ever was in any Square Enix game. Tobad the story and main character was such a let-down.

I know what you mean. I hated playing as Vaan. He was boring. One scene has him asking Fran, "Uh, how old are you?" Come on. The writers should've had fun with it. Of course she ignored him. The game play was better, but the jobs were tedious. I was bored with the ventures they sent a ho out on. Ultimately, I didn't like any of the characters' personalities enough to spend more than 8 hours with them. But I forced myself. After about 20 hrs - I'd had enough.

@SweetUniverse Future FF games could learn alot from the combat and exploration system in FFXII, since it was probably the best there ever was in any Square Enix game. Tobad the story and main character was such a let-down.

I really hope you realize that everything you just said was complete bullshit. Vaan may have blonde hair but the hair style is unique if you have ever actually looked at his hair and tried looking for it else were I doubt that you would find it unless someone was trying to cossplay as him. Penelo isn't a playboy girl. if any of the characters would be one it would be Fran. the camera angles are greaat unless your too stupid to figure out how to use the right analog stick.

I was actually happy they didn't make Vann perfect. All main characters don't have to be that way so I am glad Square Enix changed it up a bit. You don't have to be perfect to be a hero. I was happy that they were creative in how they dressed the characters. On to Fran.It's funny how you complain about how she dresses like a slut but yet I am sure you won't complain about other girl characters in other video games. Look at the other Viera. It's how Viera dress.Go play it and stop complaining.

I'd have to respectfully disagree. I also don't think you listed any reasons that dictate a bad game, personal issues with aesthetics do not quantify a game with design flaws. Next time you should focus on the game play elements to give your argument more weight. Stay in school.
