I agree that the teacher was completely wrong. But there's another side to this story: the boy and his mother. What did they do to ensure the school was a positive learning environment. Was the mother in contact with school staff about her son's behavior and academic progress? Then there's another side to this story: the school. What kind of support did they give teachers? This teacher is definitely at fault for her actions. That said, we have to remember, nothing happens in a vacuum.
