  • Would love to know the tuning used here - its just such a fantastic song

  • @thembrown See previous post below - The tuning is double-drop-D ie DADGBD, low to high. The time signature is mainly 5/4

  • @folkingdotcom Thanks! yeah I missed that

  • class sheer class nothing else to say

  • Pure class, thanks to Paul J for pointing me to this

  • This is amazing. As posted, it has everything. I highly recommend people to look for slip Jigs & reels, another jem.

  • Great song and performance!

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • yep, the guitar is awesome

  • a great treasure,nay a gem.

  • I've just returned from Arthur's at Bollington and bought Ziggurat...many thanks, Folkie Macc.

  • I absolutely love this song, it has everything. It was very sepcial to see Steve perform it last year at that wonderfully intimate venue, Port Isaac Pottery. Among good friends.

  • I used to see Steve Tilston at Leicester University Folk-Blues Club around 1970-2. Fine musician and (as people who've met him seem to remark) a very nice bloke. Good to see he's still around & producing music of this quality - a powerful performance.

  • This song is great. If anyone knows the chords/tuning please tell me.

  • The tuning is double-drop-D ie DADGBD, low to high. The time signature is mainly 5/4. I saw Steve last night playing songs from his new album (out in late May/early June)and they are fabulous! And, as others have said, really nice guy too!

  • Steve your one of best guitar players I've ever seen live, and Slip Jigs & Reels one of best songs. Please post a live version.Saw you in Newtownards, brilliant.

  • awsome when you are a Comber

  • Great to Steve getting more spotlight after being one of folk's best kept secrets for so long. He just gets better and better. Four CD Steve Tilston box set due in July from Free Reed, way to go!!!

  • Saw Steve at the String Jam Club, Scottish Borders. He was terrific - what a great guitar style, warm voice and engaging personality. Go see him.

  • Love it, great musician & guitarist, you did well to get a vid of this!

  • Great song and performance. Anyone know if there is a guitar tab available of this and what tuning Steve is using?

  • I guess that the tuning is open E by the overall sound of it, but that IS no more than a guess. If I had the tablature I wouldn't know what to do with it - it's not just the notes, its the style!!

  • brilliant. I don't know if i heard him first on John Renbourn's Ship of Fools but i once met him on a bridge in Wadebridge when he was in a folk festival. On hearing that i had no money he said he would get me in for nothing to watch him perform but unfortunatly we had to leave early.Music that touches the heart and soul

  • it won't load for me ?

  • it loads OK now.

Great song, great singer (and fabulous guitarist)

  • I found this from checking out Martha Tilston - what a treat. Enjoyed this a lot
