  • @MrJett4free I hear you man

  • @iamcalledcarlos I know you commented a loong time ago but . You are soo right!

  • I wanna like this song over and over and over again!!!!

  • I don't understand why people compare Radiohead with Coldplay. I love both bands but they really don't sound anything alike.

  • @boockly22 Maybe you should check with your local otolaryngolog. I find both bands making good music too.

  • i wish i could turn back time and be 16 in the 1990's, not now. i wish i could follow radiohead across the world wherever they go and just go to every fucking concert, watch them grow and develop musically, instead i'm stuck at home lacking vitamin d watching all these concerts on youtube

  • same exact situation here loooooooool.

  • @4mayZing

    go outside

  • Classics.. incredible song ... THANK YOU RADIOHEAD... you made an era of new music come alive... ELECTRONIC ROCK ... ( or rather PSYCHODELIC ROCK... HAHAH.. ) *** LOVE IT ***

  • I shiver every time I listen to this beautiful song.

  • love this fuckin song!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow dude that's so deep and pround LOL JONNY IZ A FUCKIN MUSHROOM!

  • look out my cover of High and dry... hope u like it!

  • Is it just me, or is this actually 'harder' and 'edgier' sounding, compared to the album version of the song? Guitars particularly sound harsher and more clear, which is a good change

  • @Thelastonion2010 couldn't agree more with you. for anyone who disagrees...this isn't a direct comment at you. clearly anyone who disagrees has fallen in this hypnotism of society themselves. it's important to make a living, support a family, etc. but materialism shouldn't be the center of your life. millions of people live a life, passing by all the beautiful grandeur this world has to offer. materialism has consumed us, made us living in the shit-hole we're in today.

  • @SoMusic15 u said it there hun....i dont even have a tv....fuck propaganda!!!!!!!!!!......i listen to buthole surfers and john frusciante and opeth and children of bodem and many others i dont limit myself and do not condone the limiting of others either....live love die....see ya ....

  • nicki minaj ftw..

  • I like how its impossible to sing a Radiohead song. Thom has such a great unique voice. Plus it has this depth to it that just penetrates right through your soul.

  • one of the best songs ever in history. kuddos to radiohead

  • Man

    Thoms voice is my favorite

    It's so unique

This is also my favorite radiohead song

  • I've always wanted to hear Thom Yorke sing the chorus with an echo by Ed O'brien, sort of like "It wears me out" (it wears me out).

  • this is from astoria , london..i think..i had the vhs.

  • Thank you entourage.

  • Comment removed

  • this band. is. amazing.

  • @groovymoustach Hey buddy, mouse taches are not "groovy" more like gravy in them ...

  • @frenchexperience moustaches are groovy as shit!

  • Babies.

Would you like to make them with me?

  • Thom basically is what I wanted, all the time.

  • And if I' could be who you wanted...

  • Gorgeus ._.

  • Oh I just had an epiphany while listening to Radio head. 0.o

  • @Jasonzxzx o wow. i had a weird cracked out dream but no epiphanys .......

  • @Jasonzxzx welllll......p.m . me xD haha i aint shairing dat over this xD hahaha JASONZXZX UR AWESOME!

    I WILL SHAIR THAT THO ! ;)

  • Is Thome Yorke an alien? Nobody from this planet could continually make music that is this beautiful as well as push music to the new level when Radiohead releases an album.

  • @jb4life77 Why come on here to say that? My troll detector is going off like crazy...

  • Freak. His speaking voice sounded about 100 times cooler than his so called singing one.

  • Ok, this is pretty damn good.

  • @lfil28 I'm so jealous and envious of those plastic people. I wish l could belong, and value your words. You deliberately misspell "coarse"-brilliant. i wonder if they eat fake plastic food and shit out chewed-up bits of hydrocarbons? The workers are oblivious and the machine unstoppable.

  • luv this frk

  • anyone no the chords hes usuing??

  • @londoninit theres something called google

  • @londoninit Yah here they are , F, A, G, just play that it suits you well

  • hawaii 81

  • @lfil28 I'm from the States, but I've got a good friend over in Essex. He tells me very similar shit. LONG LIVE RADIOHEAD!!!!

  • radiohead said in an interview that with the bends, they wanted to move on from the grungy sound of paublo honey into a more britpop style. Ok Computer was a result of touring with REM, kid a + amnesiac was like electronic genres (glitch, triphop, etc.) with jazz (miles davis, etc.). hail to the thief was like a return to form, and In Rainbows was a shit load of things, including bjork.

  • Pure awesomeness

  • is this the astoria?

  • @jestoon425 Yes.

  • @jestoon425 yeap

  • best live version

  • @AwesomeBuddy12

The "Live @ Glastonbury 2003" version has way more passion imo.

  • I've always thought of this song being about the superficiality of everyone. And a fake plastic (double negative) person is one that is real in an expanse of shallow, worthless beings.

  • its songs like this that help you to get out of that mechanical systematic way that we function day-to-day and just help us learn to realise everything else about the world

  • who fucking cares....this is brilliant as always

  • magic

  • 7 bieber fans...

  • 7 bieber fans...

  • this is what you get.....

  • The 90's were a weird time. Colin has a ponytail..

  • @BruisedEyeSockets and Phil had hair. Also I was a maniac child.

  • Greenwood is a mushroom.

  • @Smix4 You made my day hahahaha

  • @Smix4 He's still awesome.

  • this song reminds me so much of the things i see around me every day. everywhere i go, i see fake people living lives with fake emotion, just going through it all like they just want to see the end, and not really enjoying each day as they should. for these people, the sun rises and sets on their mechanical lives, bringing about occurrences that couldn't matter in the least to them. they should hear this song so that they can see what they're missing by doing that to themselves.

  • @Thelastonion2010 Very immature comment. That's called doing what you have to do

  • @Thelastonion2010 If you didn't know him and saw Thom getting his 250$ haircut you'd prolly walk along saying 'yup another faker'.

  • @Thelastonion2010 agree 110 %

  • @Thelastonion2010 Such a shallow, teenage comment...

  • @minedarea Its not shallow its the fucking truth.

  • @minedarea it's actually pretty true and it's the saddest thing in big cities like the one I live in

  • Comment removed

  • @Thelastonion2010 what are you even talking about?

  • @Thelastonion2010 So many of those people aren't capable of snapping out of it, though.

  • who is it for?

  • @lfil28 awesome explanation for the lyrics.... never thought of this song that way. it all makes sense now!!!!! :)

  • no matter how many years go by, I lose it every time i hear this song. It's so simple, yet so beautiful and entrancing. The lyrics are a pure masterpiece, and the sound is so pure and awe inspiring.

  • Haha deep voice "This is about canary wharf" then high "green plastic watering can...."

  • What the hell? Phil has hair! :D

  • i prefer the more recent performances where johnny goes skitz at his guitar

  • @andrewjcmillar same here, its so amazing to see him go crazy on it

  • this is well pure GENIUS

  • the hair of tom its cool xD

  • Greenwood is good, not the greatest ever by any stretch of the imagination. He seems like one of those guys who knows they are good and is really arrogant.

  • @maniacchris Not at all... Jonny Greenwood is very humble and introverted about his music, but he's dedicated and passionate. He's one of the most underrated guitarists because he doesn't go around showing off his talent. :/

  • @ddrluver this comment deserves 1000 thumbs up

  • @ddrluver Who cares! Listen...

  • jonny greenwood's haircut is absolutely fantastic

  • I love that Jonny's hair covers his face.. He looks mysterious LOL.

  • io li amo

  • I luv you guys comments I learn a lot I think this is my faaaaav radiohead song

  • @lfil28 I think you are exactly right....! it is the most beautiful song i've ever heard....

  • they really changed it up on this one.. i like it! but if you really think about the sound... its very much ahead of its time. briliant musicians

  • <3 nom

  • Maybe it "wears her out" to find real things. So she, like the rest of lazy society, goes and buys a fake one, just for decoration. But soon the fake-ness will take complete advantage of the laziness in society. It's starting with Fake Plastic Trees.

  • stupenda

  • i'm sure it was astoria

  • Spettacolo

  • This song is so beautiful.

  • Was this one of the first times they played this? The audience didn't seem to know it... (p.s. my claim to fame - I was in the same room as Johnny Greenwood today :)

  • @Tickedyboo i would assume so. thom still has his "the bends" era haircut and there is some different guitarish stuffing going on so i would imagine it was one of the first times they played it.

  • I believe this song was played in 1994 when they played the Astoria in England. That was before The Bends was released and several songs from that show had never been played before (including fake plastic trees.)

  • POWERFULLLLLLL

  • I have this on video, Live at the Astoria.

    Love it.

  • looks like californication style antony kiedis

  • You're right it does!

  • this is about canary whalf hahah

  • 2:17 jhonny guitar Killer!!!

  • They definitely rock!!! LOVE IT!!!

  • Amazing.........there aren't other words......

  • Words are inadequate when you have music like this. Very rare!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG n_n

  • GAH! THOM YORKE, YOU ARE THE SEX.

  • @OlympiaOverdrive lol good call and nice name ;D Puyallup here

  • some may disagree but thom's long hair always reminds me of the times when he would try to be a "rock starr" instead of just being himself

but no matter what he was always talented

  • Good point, I never thought about that, it maybe.. and perhaps, he was just bowing to pressure from the men in suits to do it

  • So why would he have long hair right now, in 2009? He certainly grew up a little last time, and there is no pressure from "men is suits" anymore.

  • my meaning of long hair wasnt literately of having long hair but of how his character was with it (his long hair being styled like a rock star instead of how it is today where its just long)

now his hair is just well...not payed attention too in his intention to be a rock star, hes just himself

long hair or not hes much better now than pablo honey years

  • Fantastic version! Loved how Jonny and Ed went mental on their guitars in the climax. Beautiful

  • What were they rocking out for 'cause Thom sure wasn't. In fact, he seemed tired...worn out. The song lost all of its emotion, if you ask me.

  • it's been said many times before, but Jonny Greenwood is the greatest musical genius of the late 20th-early 21st century. There is no equalling him in whatever he does. Also, this is the best version of this song I've ever heard.

  • The Glastonbury Live one is wicked too.

  • @unhappytobehere I don't think so. I guess Graham Coxon beats him as guitar player, as guitar innovator (?) and as a songwritter. Some things that Blur did, Radiohead did years after.

  • @samsael Blur? Compare them to Oasis. Radiohead most certainly did NOT copy Britpop.

  • @redkopite4life No, I don't think so. Blur experienced with electronic and Oasis didn't. Some ideas from BLUR and 13 can be heard on Kid A and Amnesiak.

I'm not telling that Radiohead are a copy, just that Blur was more than "britpop". And, by the way, Radiohead were part of the brit movement.

  • @unhappytobehere Look at there 2003 glastonbury performance its AMAZING

  • @unhappytobehere

Hum, hum, don't exagerate ! Though i have a huge consideration for Radiohead, there are a lot a incredible skilled guitar players that can compete with him, and win.

Anyway, Radiohead production is definitely worth listening to it.

  • @unhappytobehere I disagree and I think that's an unfair remark to make.

  • @unhappytobehere - you should get out more!!!!

  • @unhappytobehere Him and John Frusciante are some of the best guitarrist/ songwriters ever

  • this is a lament not to something, but to life's lament.

  • thats why im letting my hair grow, I want it like johnny´s XD

  • I would go gay for Thom Yorke!! The hair is great!!

  • this songs not as heart felt and epicly sad as the studio version

  • I agree. I think that might have to do with the higher speed on this version

  • pffft. whats with the hair?! i was JUST about to comment "what i wouldnt give for that hair!"

  • actually, i would interpret the song as how people is so material.. how we care so much about things we own, not how we feel...

thats my interpretation but hell it leaves me a message each time i listen to it... deep deep inside

  • personally, i love the hair.

  • i really dont...

    but thats not important..

  • beautifull song

  • el look de thom era muy andy warhol en aquel tiempo

  • During the recording sessions for The Bends in 1994, the band watched Jeff Buckley in concert; Yorke later said the concert had a direct effect on his vocal delivery on "Fake Plastic Trees." However, Yorke has said, "It annoys me how pretty my voice is... how polite it can sound when perhaps what I'm singing is deeply acidic.

    ----from Wikipedia-----

  • not digging the hair digging the vide....

  • Am I the only one who likes his hair? Probably...

  • That was absolutely amazing live! No amount of words can do this song justice

  • thom looks like dennis the menace

  • Nooo looks amm The vines singer xD

  • amazing

  • it WEARS me OUT..................

    5/5

  • his hair xD
