SOMEDAY I'LL SAY YOUR VACANT AND MAYBE YOUR BETTER OFF THIS WAY, GO AHEAD AND PLAY DEAD, I KNOW THAT YOU CAN HEAR THIS! GO AHEAD AND PLAY DEAD! WHY CAN'T YOU TURN AND FACE ME? WHY CANT YOU TURN AND FACE ME? WHY CANT YOU TURN AND FACE ME? WHY CAN'T YOU TURN AND FACE ME? YOU FUCKING DISSAPOINT ME!
i seen them play this song live back in i think it was 2000, it was fucking awesome and then when they put it on album was a wet dream come true one of the best songs (co) written by MJK
i had a dream last night i was trying to see tool live and i couldn't get tickets, but i kept finding acid and taking it with my dad. I wish i would of sleep until i got the tickets and watch the concert.
i'm a huge APC and TOOL fan and even I agree that emotive wasn't even a proper APC album... there were some really good songs but it was never as amazing as 13th step and mer de noms were. Come on guys! Its bout time APC put out another album and rock!!!
are you suggesting that Billy should've done lead vocals for apc? Billy is VERY talented but not a vocalist mastermind like Maynard. Hence the reason he asked Maynard to sing for apc eventhough Billy wrote alot of the music.
really? which album was that and where do I get it? Billy NEVER did the lead vocals on any apc albums... He did a whole lot of backup vocals but thats it.
if you saw them when they opened up for NIN on the fragile tour they had a 7 song ep for sale. It contained the demos Billy presented maynard prior to him joining the band with him doing all the vocals and music. needless to say the drums were not all that great and the overall sound was not as polished as apc. I must admit though the unplugged versions of orestes with billy vocals is damn good. If i were maynard it would make me want to work with him also. Go to pirate bay for a torrent file.
They did this when I saw them the 1st time, in Indianapolis. My buddy & I were like "WTF??" because nobody had heard it before then. It was easily the dopest performance of the whole show.
You suck abab316. I have to say that the worst comment I've ever read. Congrats on being a complet piece of shit. Your nothing more to me than magot.....Fuck off!!!!
I don't understand why so much argument about OPINION goes on with YouTube. My personal OPINION is that the Vacant version is more powerful than Passive, I would love to have been at a show where this was played!
While I do love this version, I prefer the studio version. I admit, this one is far more raw and unnerving (which I like), but the studio version is more dynamic. By that I mean that it shows a broader range of emotion, from quiet disbelief and denial at the beginning of the song all the way to barely-controlled, deep-seated rage at the height of it, to bitter acceptance at the end.
Yeah, maybe I read into it to much, but whatever.
The studio/final version of the song was 'Passive'. I'm not sure where you're getting conspiracy from.
Anyways, this version was called 'Vacant'; which they never released a studio version of. It was only played during a couple shows. The song was written by 'Tapeworm (project)' which never quite came through. Maynard and A.P.C. were given the permission to perform this song.
No, they weren't given permission to play Vacant. That's the whole reason the Tapeworm project fell apart. A Perfect Circle played it and Trent Reznor found out, got angry, and quit.
Maynard and Trent Reznor recorded a bunch of shit that they didnt want to release, and maynard performed this song with apc... trent didnt quit, because it was never really a band...
watered down? passive is about ten times more intricate and complex than this shit version. sorry for the retard comment... i didn't know you actually ARE retarded
This version is definetly better than the studio version. Maybe there's some underlying reason that we don't know about as to why they recorded the way they did for the album
the song in the context he sings it in is called "VACANT" is it not? i know its passive, but....yeah im pretty sure its called Vacant at this time and with the words

that bitch sucks tho that tried to do vocals she should just stick to playing bass she cannot sing.
this version was not bad i think tho. not nearly as heavy as tool for tool is metal and apc is a rock band.

Also she did some solo work too, and that stuff is more than "decent".
Do some research, compare, before implying bullshit.
