Thats not really wild driving its what the vaderstad is design for high speed if he wasnt giving it the beans he may aswell have a little cheap drill thats why these drills cost so much a mate of mine use to drive this same drill at 14 k and more over 3000 acres a year for years he never had any problems quality tractor on the front to. Gd vid
@gtills i'm afraid it wasn a t6090 then, a lot of NH followers are reffering this tractor to JD people and saying to stick this in their JD pipe and smoke it, i secretly crave johne deere always, but new holland put out seriously nice equipment.
@rakerman since when am i wild ?? !! I've been called worse i suppose though!! was delighted to see declan pulling into the field that day, i knew id get my moment of glory then. Good man Rakerman!!
Well, that's a double-whammy for me! Never seen that drill before and never seen stone-picking by Buckrake before, either. Been a long time since I saw dust, too!
@balmesh Here in Norway we call the Buckrake a stonepicker. But it might be used for buckrakeing on the bigger farms, I don't know. Cause where i come from we have to spread the silage by useing a fork and pure muscel power.
Ah, when I were a lad that machine was used to bring in the mown grass for the clamp. Then it ran up and down all over it in the evening with a can of molasses upside down glugging out! Silage was cut out by hand (mine, usually) and wheel-barrowed to the waiting cows, by hand. You didn't get cold! Never saw that used for stone-picking before, though. In Scotland it was three men, one on the tractor and trailer, and when the rocks were plentiful, all 3 on the ground!
@balmesh Sounds pretty much like when my dad was just a young. My grandfather sat in the tractor. Cutting the silage with a Taarup directcut harvester and either the vossakasso or a trailer. And then my dad, his brothers, sister and his mom was in the silo spreading the cut gras even. And when the first tower silo was full they spread molasses in that silo. And then they moved on to the next bit smaller tower silo, and filled that one to. And at last they filled the last tower silo.
I have had a look at that machine a couple times Gurteen College and Punchestown, it looks a very good piece of kit, and the changes made since well be very helpful. Just a shame not all companies are as customer orientated as the drill makers above!
I used a 4m Vaderstad drill, averaged 10 acres pre hour. Sometimes pushed 12 acres per hour but was really travelling.
Much faster then a one pass, 1100 acres done in under two weeks.

We didn't have a tower, so the tractor could spread it, but yes, we cut with a 40" Lundell and a MF 35. !!!!!
