Goadhatesmyapace has a narrow perspective. In WWII, when we saved Europe from nazis, fascism & genocide, we were spending 23 cents on military for every tax dollar. Today we spend 4 cents on military per tax dollar. Every good-intentioned program that doesn't work takes money away from our military & cripples the government's ability to protect its citizens. We need to cut programs & re-allocate money. There's more than enough. High taxation on income destroys incentive & ruins the economy.
