However, the lack of coverings in many societies around the world is considered a normal way of expressing one's physical beauty and does not directly warrant a man's sexual frustration derived from a belief system that teaches one to fear the beauty of women as being the cause of immorality. I just wanted to say man... I marathoned all of your videos. I don't want to sound creepy or anything, but you're something like a hero to me. You've just said everything I believe. In my life I got a lot of flak for being a Muslim as a kid. I never really understood the world perception of Muslims (I was a dumb kid :P). I just wanted to say man... I marathoned all of your videos. I don't want to sound creepy or anything, but you're something like a hero to me. You've just said everything I believe. In my life I got a lot of flak for being a Muslim as a kid. I never really understood the world perception of Muslims (I was a dumb kid :P). But to this day, I'm just so grateful that I had an amazing family that allowed me to choose my faith and told me to love no matter what.

i know lots of muslim women who dont cover...yes some places they have to cover..but so do some strict orthodox jews and strict orthodox christians...
in america the first wimbledon tennis competition had women competing in full length dresses and gloves and bonnets all in the name of modesty..not so long ago.

I know a lot of Muslim Women, who are forced to wear them, and that is what i am questioning. I am not asking about the Muslim women who don't. Who live in safe democratic countries founded on the principles of Equality.
Why are Muslim women, such as those in Saudi Arabia, forced to wear such garments, and what is the punishment if they dont? Are you aware of any facts relating directly to this?

here are some stats if you dont mind ^^ between 1992 & 1993.
Women age 12 or older annually sustained almost 5
million violent victimizations in 1992 and 1993.
Women and girls ages 12 and up annually reported about 500,000 rapes and sexual assaults, almost 500,000 robberies, and about 3.8 million assaults.(these are only 'reported' incidents)

5 million reported cases of abused women in the U.S.
if lets be very exagerated and say that there had been 1million cases of women being beaten in saudi for not protecting themselves, surely that is still 5times better then letting 5million of them be abused.

@Exshinrasoldier: reported cases are higher in America, because women are not beaten for reporting. Women do not need 4 male muslim witnesses to report murder. (Imagine, 4 muslim men, sitting around watching a women get raped, and she still got raped?) Shraiah law is so far against women's rights, that women are litterally unable to report the abuse. Who would they report it to? Their husband? The one doing the abuse? The Male dominated muslim society? Who would listen?

@BreshiBaraElohim you raise a few fair points, but you see, the problems that muslim women face is not because of the teachings of islam, or the shraiah law, but rather the absense of the whole of it.
if you only apply or are only allowed to apply certain rules of a system then that system is not at all compleat and thus renders it all incapeable (in a sense).

besides, if you actualy looked into the matter along the lines of islamic teachings and why it has rules set out for such things then maybe you will understand why it has been done this way.

@clevonamerica: Convection currents are created when something heats up, causing air flow. So, they must be getting REALLY hot under there, to heat up enough, to cause air to flow up (heat goes up) out of the top of a covered head (which would trap heat inside, by all standards hoodwear that i am aware of).
I have heard, that Black Absorbs Heat. And clothing traps air around your skin, which heats it up.
Maybe just a rumor.
