Glad you did the second run - most of the youtube videos on the Poliscan show excellent detection range but with the rotating mirror & approx 1.5 secs to scan left to right, I have found the alert time can vary just like your test results from the best case of lots of reaction time to almost having to hit the brakes. I have read the poliscan takes 0.1sec (10 samples) to get a valid speed between 75-20m and will take the photo at a set distance after this.
