I pray that you will be able to adopt this little boy and have him be part your very loving and accepting family. Parents and family are based on love, not gender.

Can you guys financially handle this without any problems? How long do your two foster kids stay for at a time? Two of your own kids cost enough, so, I'm just curious if you guys have weighed the fiscal responsibilities involved of a 5th, with special needs. Not that it wouldn't be great, of course, but I hope you guys are realistic about it, in lieu of just going on the idea of "he feels right in our family".

Wow, it breaks my heart to hear about what happened to this little guy. Find the person(s) whom did this and repay the favor is my first knee jerk reaction but that would not be the right thing to do. It would be wonderful if you two men took in this child, the child be very lucky to have you guys as dads’. Not to mention a great big brother and big sister who would love and care for him as well.

I'm glad you were there for this boy, and that you are still there. The fact that, when things go wrong for him, there is a safe place, will always be important to him, whether he grows up with you permanently or not. At some point he will turn 18, and he will be able to make his own decisions about who is his family, and you will be there at that time, too.
I know what you mean when you say you know you were meant to take care of this boy. I too have had that happen and it is a beautiful thing.
I can't stand when I hear how people treat children. I cry when I hear the sad stories on TV and in the news. What is worse is when the kids end up dead. What a waste of beautiful human lives!

I saw an article yesterday where Catholic charities will close down rather than let gay couples adopt kids,so they keep federal funding. I feel if any group won,t let gay couples adopt just because there gay them LET THEM CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@kentwesterly I know its sick...We get comments and hate mail all the time from people telling us that CPS is stealing kids and giving them to gay people....It always makes me so mad if they could see 10% of the abused kids that come to gay homes to find their loving forever families.

when i was in my twenties my best friend lived (rented a room) in a big foster home owned by some mutual friends. we were like big brothers to all the kids, was a wonderful feeling to make such a difference in those lost kids lives. Sometimes kids get thrown away, it just breaks your heart, sounds like you guys know enough to listen to your heart. good luck!

I didn't know you had 4 children with you! Kudos to you guys for being able to open up your home to these special kids. As you know, we tried it, and we couldn't handle it. Where there's a will, there's always a way ~ & I believe that this little boy's guardian angel has chosen the safest, most loving, warmest, friendliest & happiest family (parents & siblings) to gift him with.
As for his autism ~ I am of the firmest belief that ALL ailments, disfigurements, injuries etc. shall dissipate & repair themselves in the very near future. If you keep abreast of my heavenly mentor, you too will believe & pray for such.
As I type this I cry. Having a child go back to its parents and end up with broken bones, etc makes me very sad. If he doesn't end up in your household then I hope they find a good home for him. It does sound like he belongs with you guys.. If he does have Autism are you prepared for it? That's basically having a "kid" for life. Daniel and Selena can eventuallly leave the nest and become independant. It's a tough decision.
@TMKristen Hugs these comments we really need...Both me and Bryan arnt scared of medical issues we feel that when you have chalenges in life and you overcome them you become that much more of an incredible person. When we adopted Daniel he had so many medical problems but look at him now he is an incredible son.
@gdwatcher it doesn't always mean having a kid for life. autistics have varying abilities and disabilities and challenges and gifts. if you want to know more on autism i suggest reading Temple Grandin's books, or watching her stuff on youtube. she's awesome. and the right kinda diet especially if started early, along with some gentle guidance and you get a pretty well adjusted person. AVOID Autism Speaks, they're horrible. i said this on facebook. ask me stuff if you like guys. here or fb. <3
@gdwatcher That's not necessarily true. As others have said, it depends upon the abilities and limitations of the individual. My brother has a dual diagnosis, which makes it even harder, and yet is fully indepoendent, has a good job, and lives by himself. People with autisim can go on to lead full lives.
I don't know why the system works the way it does. Why do they try everything they can to return the children to their shitty parents they had to take them away from in the first place?! It is really a God given miracle that my sister had my parents to take her in and raise her instead of going back to my aunt who still neglects the children she has. You guys are truely wonderful people for caring so much for this child to consider making him part of your family.

As a Gay man in Indiana, I'm lucky my breathing air is tolerated, there's NO WAY I'd be allowed to foster or adopt if I wanted to. It's a shame those screaming so loudly against abortion aren't adopting the kids they've "saved".

I can't even imagine having 5 kids in my home, but you guys are wonderful for helping a child who is so in need. My son is autistic as well, so I know how much of a challenge that alone can be, and my heart breaks for that baby. Best of luck!

aww thats is great news so very sad to see that the child had to be placed back in to that place and have his arms broken. And thank the lord their is you two that are willing to open your arms and home too him yet again. I hope everything goes by well and you are able to keep him with you as your child forever. I saw an article yesterday where Catholic charities will close down rather than let gay couples adopt kids,so they keep federal funding. I feel if any group won,t let gay couples adopt just because there gay them LET THEM CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@kentwesterly I know its sick...We get comments and hate mail all the time from people telling us that CPS is stealing kids and giving them to gay people....It always makes me so mad if they could see 10% of the abused kids that come to gay homes to find their loving forever families.

when i was in my twenties my best friend lived (rented a room) in a big foster home owned by some mutual friends. we were like big brothers to all the kids, was a wonderful feeling to make such a difference in those lost kids lives. Sometimes kids get thrown away, it just breaks your heart, sounds like you guys know enough to listen to your heart. good luck!

I didn't know you had 4 children with you! Kudos to you guys for being able to open up your home to these special kids. As you know, we tried it, and we couldn't handle it. There was too much heartbreak. I'm glad there are people like you who can. Hope everything goes well for the little guy. Where there's a will, there's always a way ~ & I believe that this little boy's guardian angel has chosen the safest, most loving, warmest, friendliest & happiest family (parents & siblings) to gift him with.
As for his autism ~ I am of the firmest belief that ALL ailments, disfigurements, injuries etc. shall dissipate & repair themselves in the very near future. If you keep abreast of my heavenly mentor, you too will believe & pray for such.

As I type this I cry. Having a child go back to its parents and end up with broken bones, etc makes me very sad. If he doesn't end up in your household then I hope they find a good home for him. It does sound like he belongs with you guys.. If he does have Autism are you prepared for it? That's basically having a "kid" for life. Daniel and Selena can eventuallly leave the nest and become independant. It's a tough decision.

When we adopted Daniel he had so many medical problems but look at him now he is an incredible son.

@gdwatcher it doesn't always mean having a kid for life. autistics have varying abilities and disabilities and challenges and gifts. if you want to know more on autism i suggest reading Temple Grandin's books, or watching her stuff on youtube. she's awesome. and the right kinda diet especially if started early, along with some gentle guidance and you get a pretty well adjusted person. AVOID Autism Speaks, they're horrible. i said this on facebook. ask me stuff if you like guys. here or fb. <3

@gdwatcher That's not necessarily true. As others have said, it depends upon the abilities and limitations of the individual. My brother has a dual diagnosis, which makes it even harder, and yet is fully indepoendent, has a good job, and lives by himself. People with autisim can go on to lead full lives.

I don't know why the system works the way it does. Why do they try everything they can to return the children to their shitty parents they had to take them away from in the first place?! It is really a God given miracle that my sister had my parents to take her in and raise her instead of going back to my aunt who still neglects the children she has. You guys are truely wonderful people for caring so much for this child to consider making him part of your family.

While I could never even think of doing what you two are doing with the kids, I commend you! As a Gay man in Indiana, I'm lucky my breathing air is tolerated, there's NO WAY I'd be allowed to foster or adopt if I wanted to. It's a shame those screaming so loudly against abortion aren't adopting the kids they've "saved".
