it is so heartbreaking that i cannot begin to understand all we seem to care is to act on our fear and deport people to the other side of the border where they can easily come back as a dependable solution to mass immigration, This is not only inhumane but also cost ineffective. Fiscal conservative should agree that it is a big chunk of U.S. tax being wasted to a superficial temporary solution rather than fundamental immigration reform that could facilitate and regulate the flow of people.

The 14th Amndmnt's current misinterp's based upon the presump. that the Wong Kim Ark ruling encompassed illegals. It didn't address children of illegal aliens & non-immigrant aliens, but determined allegiance for legal immigrant parents based on the meaning of domicil(e). Since it's inconceivable that alien parents could have legal domicile in the US, the ruling didn't extend birthright citizenship to children of alien parents.

I researched this. They broke no laws to come here. To escape Guatemala violence, the parents were granted asylum - no longer valid now for some reason. Their story is completely different from what I initially thought. They didn't come illegally but their presence is illegal now. These ppl learned English, bought a home, wore ankle bracelets, had weekly visits from ICE, paid their taxes proper, & the young girls are doing well in school. These ppl should be made citizens & role-modeled.
