That "old man" that was dissed is a retired firefighter who spent 35 years saving lives. He saved his daughter-in-law, a fireman's wife, from getting hit worse by that car, being injured himself, and was holding her up because her crutches were hit, one broken into three pieces. The car hit her knee and re-injured it from the surgery she had two weeks prior.
My family is very thankful that my dad and sister-in-law are OK. My sister-in-law needed help picking up a bike for my brother so my dad was with her when an old lady in a Cadillac failed to stop in a handicapped parking space, floored it and nearly killed my family. She was still spinning her wheels against the back wall when the sheriff's arrived. My sis-in-law re-hurt her knee when the car clipped her and my dad, a retired LA County Fire Captain, was trying to find out how bad she was hurt.

Amazing how this happens alot. Older people hitting accelerator instead of Breaks and in panic they step even harder thinking its still the breaks. My dad almost got hit this way if it werent for one of those poles they put to protect the store.
They issue drivers' licenses for life here in France and I dunno who are worse, the elderly binge drinkers, the youth on scooters, or those busy with portable phones while driving, but it is dang scary here. I am from Ohio and was not at all annoyed when there, and in NYS, I had to have my eyes and hearing checked fairly regularly to get a renewal on my licenses there. That driver is in a lotta trouble, I hope. Really.

Handicaped parking spaces are also usually larger to allow for ease of getting in and out of wheelchairs or in crutches.

Amazing how this happens alot. Older people hitting accelerator instead of Breaks and in panic they step even harder thinking its still the breaks. My dad almost got hit this way if it werent for one of those poles they put to protect the store.

They issue drivers' licenses for life here in France and I dunno who are worse, the elderly binge drinkers, the youth on scooters, or those busy with portable phones while driving, but it is dang scary here. I am from Ohio and was not at all annoyed when there, and in NYS, I had to have my eyes and hearing checked fairly regularly to get a renewal on my licenses there. That driver is in a lotta trouble, I hope. Really.
