Hi friend great video. Thats awsome you got the technics dirt cheap hey do you know where i can get one or are you interested in selling perhaps.. Thanks.
@SilentTrama - Actually it isn't that expensive: Many of my instruments were broken when I bought them. And non-Hammond organs are generally very cheap nowadays. I bought the Technics organ at a flea market for the equivalent of 80$ because it was broken. But as you can hear I managed to repair it.
Yamaha and Technics both made organs so they were off course rivals in some way. But they were quite different regarding design and sound. So both of them had there group of users who preferred one brand over the other. The main difference between my Yamaha and my Technics is that the Yamaha is digital where the Technics is a bit older and analogue.
@organfairy And....Yamaha has the louzy habit of putting congas on their rock and beat 8 rythm sections nowadays. Personally, my ideal organ would be Hammond drawbars, with Orla phasing knob, and Yamaha rythm section form their Electone B series! I lke your style, organfairy.
there is a trance version of this in japan..... it's far faster than this origional version..... it's called Dancing Queen (feat. Namisuke & Mayax)..... would make any dance floor burn up.....
The drum machine is the build-in rhytm section of the organ from 1984. On my other video "Like a virgin" there are some close-ups of the organs buttons. The reason you can't see me start and stop the rhytm is because I use a little footswitch in the pedal section.
I think Technics also made a seperate rhytm unit based on the rhytm section of their organs.
They did indeed produce a drum machine,it was known quite simply as the SY-DP50 and was infact the rhythm section taken from the SX-G7 organ plus a few more programmable features.
A professional friend of mine had one and it was (at the time) an amazing piece of kit.
I have done both of them using an 8-channel tape recorder some years ago. I don't have any video of it though - but off course I could recreate the situation or just add some pictures...
Not very much variation. The SX-C600 is the portable version of the SX-E66. All three models share the same user manual so I can say that the difference is that the E-66 has a few more voices: Electric piano and Jazz Guitar in percussion, Synthe-Brass in orchestra, Flute and Trumpet in solo, String 4' and Flute 2' in lower, 1 1/3' flute in upper, and there is a vocal ensemble section and a programmable "virtual drawbar" tab in the orchestral conductor. The rest is the same.
exzellente Schlagzeugsounds und Solos.Böhm oder Wersi muss dagegen nicht immer besser sein.Man siehts und hörts hier deutlich.

I see you manually hit the drum break button, isn't the foot switch able to do this ?
Arthur60 2 years ago
No. It can be used to do start/stop and glide. Funny though - the other organs can all do break with their foot controllers.

That's very good. What is the drum machine used? Sounds right for the age of the song.
