I've only ever heard this once in actual performance - it's usually cut because it's considered overwhelmed by the chorus which precedes it. So hats off to ssiroe, and Mr McCreesh for getting it into his recording, in which he presumably also allows the last note its full length. And to Arthur Rooke and the Salford Choral Society, who did it all those years ago in Manchester, and to Raimund Gilvan who stole that evening. His singing would have made his name anywhere, had he been interested.
