Battlefield 1942 was a WW2, WW1, Modern Combat, Star Wars, post-apocaliptic, post-apocalyptic, WW2 again, fun racing, pirate fantasy etc... game.

It all just depends on which mod you are playing, and 1942 had many excellent mods.

I agree man, they were the best Battlefield games. Also, i have noticed that BFV seems 2 have the most realistic explosion damage. Unlike BF2 and BF1842 u don't need 2 directly shoot a rocket at someone 2 kill them. But luckily Battlefield 1943 is coming out which uses frostbite engine. i can't wait!

you see..the great part about battlefield 1942 that cant be matched by the other games is that its complete, utter chaos. I mean controlling the ships and beaching them near land is just pure fun...going wild with anti air guns, artillery, or airplanes is just a blast...and theres so much to do.

I understand that you wouldn't download this mod, but even if this video is good, it don't show the best parts of this mod. An exemple, when the two boats are firing, the second is half on the beach and the cannons are firing in the water. And the urban combat is pretty cool too.
