  • Look! He's a lightbulb at :06

  • I hate the dull and streaky floors too

  • I almost drank Mr Clean when I was a kid. I was thirsty and thought it was a citrus drink. Good thing my parents stopped me.

  • @smokes2468 lol

  • Winks in the middle of the commercial!

  • I love you, Mr. Clean!

  • Two fisted Mr. Clean - Not Steve Wilkos!

  • Oh, this is still steve wilkos... just after being bribed with candy to do a commercial in the 70's :P

  • 'nuff said!

  • One hand/other hand!

  • HE'S NEVER TWO FISTED NOWADAYS...

  • Two fisted Mr. Clean knocks out 50 cents!

  • Great for so many cleaning jobs!

R.I.P. Mr. Clean model House Peters, Jr...

  • That woman wasn't Kate Jackson, was it?

  • Doesn't look like Kate Jackson, I guess...

  • Mr. Clean likes you!

  • The one and only on the one hand!

  • Why does Mr. Clean hate the dull and streaky floors?

  • Mr. Clean might have sponsored Search for Tomorrow when the soap opera went from fifteen minutes to half an hour (thirty minutes) in the late 1960's.

  • One of the P&G sponsored products too numerous to mention...

  • "He gets dirt without spoiling the shine!"

  • Hey heine71, did you that Mr. Clean (like the Two Fisted Mr. Clean commercial) has been sponsored Search For Tomorrow as well.

  • I know!

  • You would see this during commercial breaks of the 1975 Proctor and Gamble produced soaps like Guiding Light, As the World Turns, Another World, and Edge of Night.

  • I even like in the commercial at the end the woman in a small square next to the animated Mr. Clean character (flexing his arm muscles/two fisted fists) and saying "I love him".

  • Mr. Clean even winked in the 1970's!

  • I also remember a newspaper coupon ad to tie in with Two-Fisted Mr. Clean in 1975: "Two-Fisted Mr. Clean knocks out 50 cents."

  • By the way, who were the lead vocals on this 1975 Mr. Clean Two Fisted jingle? Sounds like the Dick Marx (father of pop singer Richard Marx) Orchestra and Chorus who have sang other jingles for products like Kellogg's cereals, Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Nestle's Crunch, Quasar, Virginia Slims, and others.

  • This was not Dick Marx singing. However, this was recorded in Chicago. There were three top jingle writers in Chicago and they were all good friends: Dick Marx, Tom Cadden and Bill Walker. All three have passed away, but they leave behind a trail of jingles that live in the heads of millions.

  • "The One and Only...Two Fisted Mr. Clean!"

  • But why was Mr. Clean The One and Only even two fisted?

  • "I love him!"

  • I wish someone uploaded on YouTube the 1976 Sunshine Fresh Mr. Clean TV commercial with a pre-Three's Company Suzanne Sommers in it.

  • "He leaves one shiny gleaming!"

    (What shiny gleaming??)

  • A shiny gleaming...

  • My father Thomas Scott Cadden wrote the original Mr. Clean Jingle. He was a consultant on this commercial and jingle. He passed away in November 2007. The correct words are "He leaves...what's shining, gleaming. I remember that my dad always asked the same question...What's shining gleaming mean??? He did not think it made much sense either.

  • Two-Fisted Mr. Clean was surpassed in 1976 by Sunshine Fresh Mr. Clean.

  • This is from 1975, not 1972.

The Two Fisted Mr. Clean used to scare me a lot.

  • Two Fisted Mr. Clean is the scariest commercial character of the 1970's, second only to the Calgonite Spotmaker.
