I wonder if blood type matter? Say for example type A could be greater then type O. Just the fact that some people blood could be greater then others when using PRP or does it make any difference?
Hair cloning would definitely be a lot better than hair transplant cause it would beat having to take hair follicles out of the back of one's head and leaving behind those nasty scars.
@frametheory We are now performing the ACell treatment for Hair Restoration at our offices in Manhattan (New York) and Garden City (Long Island). You may call us at 212-265-8877 to find out how ACell and PRP injections can help if you have hair loss.
@luigi132010 Thanks for your questions regarding ACell + PRP. Hope this helps!
Both PRP and ACell are approved (ACell has 5 FDA Allowances (equal to approval for a non-medication), and PRP has FDA allownces as well for point of use (injection).
No treatment is 100%, but our track record for positive results with our patients has been in the 80% range to date--we have had no adverse effects to date as well.
The injections for ACell + PRP for hair restoration have not produced any scarring.
@DrPrasad1 Thank you for your soon reply Dr. Prasad
I personally experienced hairloss since I was 15 years old, now I am 21 and I just stopped using Finasteride because I had side effects. Does this injections block DHT or just stimulate hair to grow? How often does this injections need to be applied to keep the effect?
Many people on HL forums have speculated the Wounding and Acell just might work. If it does, and your patients are seeing results, you guys should consider setting up seminars on your therapeutic procedure.
@antonioj123 We are doing just that. Dr. Gary Hitzig will be in Europe for the second time in three months initiating additional trainings and clinical trials with ACell.
@xzaxx We offer ACell Treatment under the supervision of Dr. Gary Hitzig at our office locations in Upper East Side Manhattan (61 E 66 St, NY, NY 10065) and Garden City, Long Island (901 Stewart Ave. Suite #206, Garden City, NY 11530). To set up an appointment for consultation, please call 212-265-8877. Thank you for your interest!
@WhiteMoonLights Multiplication of hairs seems to need "fresh" transplants (hair transplant) or fresh implants of plucked hairs. The healing process seems to involve the duplication of skin, nerves, blood vessels and most importantly, hairs. Injections of ACell/PRP into scalp alone with mature growing hairs, however weakened, do not multiply (we think). Time will tell!
@MrTsuchinokoultimate We have been performing ACell/PRP injections to help people preserve their existing hair. We don't have any immediate plans to do the treatment in the UK (ACell has not yet been approved for human use in the UK at this time). You may contact our office and speak to Cher, our Practice Administrator for Hair Restoration at (516)536-0385 or through our website
I study economics, if any entity cures Hairloss with one/two injections, our Economic GDP will drop (this is bad only for economics, not humans). The FDA doesn't want and won't allow this because its all based on profit. I'm sorry, but they don't won't a cure in our current economic System. Remember, efficient and sustainable products are the enemies of profit.
@vidic245 Sorry but there is a cost to most items. Cosmetic improvement, like vacations, are optional. Like designer clothing, the choice of what one buys is optional, not a necessity. I can't speak directly to the economic concept you describe however I can say that medical progress which improves quality of life probably does have a positive economic effect. I ask that questions be limited to the medical aspects of the treatments discussed.
@DrPrasad1 Sorry for going off tangent, the point i was trying to get across is, due to economic GDP which every first year economist understands. There will be no cure for hair loss in our current economic model, products need to be constantly consumed over time for our economy. Hypothetically speaking, if ACell cures baldness, it will be shut down instantly based on its inverse relationship to GDP growth regardless of human concern. This applies to the cancer "industry" aswell.
@DrPrasad1 Medical progress does improve the quality of life. although factor in this logic. Currently, the medical industry accounts for 25% of national GDP (Google it), Remember a high GDP is a good thing for the economy. What does the Medical industry do? it deals with SICK AND DYING people. Therefore, the sickness of people in society is "Needed" to sustain our economy. They don't want 1 simple treatment, they want treatments overtime. If they cure cancer tomorrow, GDP will drop.
Dr. Prasad, you always seem to be on the cutting edge concerning aesthetic medicine. Using stem cells from fat for facial rejuvenation. Now using stem cell technology for hair multiplication.
When will ACELL actually be recreating hairlines. That's the hard part.
@PaulHartXYZ Thank you. ACell technology is helping us improve the quality of hairlines whether we use ACell during a transplant or as an injection to strenghten a thinning hairline.
I've been seeing as of the past week certain stories telling that Dr. Hitzig and Dr. Reddy are in the UK performing a trial treatment on 20 men over there. Is there something that has changed in the procedure to make it even more effective than before?
@randalloid3 Thanks for your interest. Dr. Hitzig continues to improve his formulation of ACell with PRP (platelet rich plasma) and has returned from his supervising Dr. Reddy's treatment at the Private Clinic of Harley Street with some modifications of PRP processing. As the first hair restoration specialist with the most ACell experience-- he started using ACell the day after the FDA approval for human use-- Dr. Hitzig helped us provide leading edge techniques with ACell and hair restoration.
@randalloid3 In addition, we have actually improved the PRP formulation and combined it successfully with the new FINE PARTICLE ACell for easier spread and better distribution during injection.
When will the PRP + ACELL procedure hit the market?...daily express and italian press were talking about this week for the end of the trials...can you confirm that?
@cinqueostacoli We cannot confirm that press, however we are currently offering PRP and ACell for hair loss in the United States at our practice, in Manhattan and Garden City, Long Island.
@cinqueostacoli Like any treatment, this one has been shown in our recent studies with patients to help slow down, stop, and sometimes even reverse thinning hair, BUT nothing is 100%. We feel we are moving in the right direction however.
@randalloid3 Dipping the hairs in ACell will help attract the body's Adult stem cells to the site of injury made when we make the tiny cuts to insert the hairs in the recipient area. From there, it is our belief that the site will "re-model" itself during the healing phase with fresh "progenitor cells" thereby increasing the new hairs immunity to DHT.
@DrPrasad1 Thanks for the reply. I realize that you are discussing using the bladder of the human body. I have also recently heard that now a new method of using the ACell from a pig's bladder instead. Was this video made before this recent discovery? And if so, what is the difference between the two methods?
@randalloid3 There was no reference made to human bladder but rather to "bladder" in general for the healing capacity. ACell is derived from pig bladder.
I wonder if blood type matter? Say for example type A could be greater then type O. Just the fact that some people blood could be greater then others when using PRP or does it make any difference?

Hello Dr Prasad:
I have a couple of questions that probably many people want to know
Is the prp-acell injections FDA approved ?
Does everyone showed possitive results after the prp-acell injections?
Can the injections produce scars?

I would just like to say that the comment about rogaine being exciting but doesn't do much may be true for some but not all.
I was a Nw 6 and minoxidil regrew lots of hair back onto a completely bald scalp which hadn't seen any hair in over twenty years.
