  • AH!! WOW!!! This brings back great memories of my school days and seeing the hotrods at the rainbow and the roundhouse several times. Before the rainbow gigs they would be in the pub over the road having a pint!! Great band!!!

  • Hey! What happened to the first verse "Well I'm spending all my money and it's going up my nose"...?

  • E grande pezzo... e grandi Eddie & The Hot Rods...

  • Comment removed

  • what a great raw guitar player, shame we dont see more of him, even during the solo!

  • What is the year of this live please?

  • 5 people spent all their money and it went up their nose.

  • respect fot the hot rods....its funny how so many singers back then tried to look and move like M Jagger. .. .in any genre

  • I love the clean for TV lyrics.

  • this is just fucking flawless

  • I see them down the 100 Club, London, a few years ago. The vid takes me right back to my youth though. :)

  • the great paul gray on bass!!!

  • Sexiest lead singer EVER!!!!

  • along with dr feelgood underated bands ..........gone but not fogotten

  • look out. I've buy this one in paris when it was issued. Great memories.

  • Um, listen to the lyrics...nothing funny going on there.

  • @Smuggie

the first line (no pun) of the song was changed for broadcast TV

  • @Smuggie Criminally overlooked ! Then and now......

  • lmfao.. yeah this song is pretty badass actually. Explains how most kids go early life.

  • you aren't supposed to express yourself when feeling bad? doesn't that just make depression worse? i also think this song is less about severe clinical depression than normal depression a lot of adolescence go through. nothing should be out of bounds in art.

  • So damn good!

  • He's called Barry

  • Eddie!!!

  • reminds me of Dr.Feelgood, so I do

  • great footage i remember watching this,, there was also a later show in the late 80s early 90s which had tony Slattery sayimg nothing,, but pulling funny faces, gurning!! any footage of that show, survive? i remember some great bands playing live!

  • It should be " now don't hang me up with none of that shit" It's television.

  • Criminally overlooked band and genre. The pub rock revival is coming. Anyone remember Sore Throat?

  • Oh yeah, down the Pindar of Wakefield, King's X. Top band - great fun.

  • @clivetemple - yes I remember Sore Throat and saw em supporting somebody at the Roundhouse in London in the late 70s.

  • Fantastic song and great band!

  • thats right wailda!!!!

    pretty cool!

  • damm cool

  • hey, it's not the original lyrics

  • yea, its sounds like the television "censored" version.

  • it should be "spendin all my money and its gonin up nose, my daddy threw me out and he's tearin up my clothes" if i remember right, its been a long time...

  • jazzed up Chuck Berry.

  • Very funny this mistake towards the end, proves clearly it´s not playback! But of course they were tight, no wonder bs/dr got to play with Thunders solo album. I prefer these guys to Feelgoods, or any other pub band (sorry Nick!)

  • Best boogie songs: Songs that are just so cool you don't notice they're a boogie beat.

  • aww man...spendin all my money on things I shouldnt use? LAME! spendin all my money and its goin up my nose!!!!!! YEA!

  • this rythm section is off the freakin chain.... high powered indeed..................

  • i saw these guys live last week, the edited lyrics are just funny hahaha. button your lips? lol

  • i just got my convese boots out of the washing macine and they are just as dirty and the rubber has come off the souls, i did everything properly yet they're buggered. i preferred the copies, they were cheaper and looked just as good, its hard to get copies now, why?

  • geat band, pubs not dead!

  • i saw them live in Harlow Essex Open Air concert must have been 1978...awesome ..anyone remember ????

  • yes...I was there! Brilliant!

  • I was at many of the early concerts at the Town Park.

  • Was Captain Sensible part of the Hot Rods prior to the Damned?

  • Captain Sensible was never in the Hot Rods.

  • Mmmm.... I was recently sent a vid by Bruce Griffiths in Sydney with the Rods playing with Capt Sensible in 1974 in a suburban backyard in London. It was clear to see that it was the Cap, but happy to be corrected if I have the info confused.

  • Captain is a good friend of Eddie & the Hot Rods to this very day.

Paul Gray, bassman, played with The Damned from 1980 until 1982.

  • Cheers Detroit!

  • Supersonic - that brings back some memories!

  • even though it´s censored it´s great. these guys were so cool. wish I could´ve seen´em live.

  • arrrrrrrrg the censored version !

  • University Radio Essex circa 1977. A hot hit. If it hadn't have been for Punk these guys would have been big.

  • LOOL my favotite song

  • very DR FEELGOOD

back in 1977...at the age of 13..had a profound effect!.............then i got drunk on punk

  • i love this song! reminds of eddie cochran.

  • Hahaha "Spending all my money on the things I shouldn't use!"

  • "Well I'm spending all my money and it's going up my nose"

Is the version I know, I think the lyrics on this have been stepped on for broadcast. ;)

  • Live at the Horns watford Feb 21st 08. cant wait.....

  • this has to be the best Hot Rods clip on the web!

  • Great to see this again after all these years it's a shame Steve's got his trousers on!

  • I bought the Teenage Depression album Christmas 1977, together with the Sex Pistols' Never Mind The Bollocks. It sounded great when I was 13, it still sounds great now!

  • I'm afraid I made a mistake, mate, you couldn't have bought 'never mind the bollocks' in 1977, ain't you?

    Merry Christmas from Milan!

    Marco

  • whats wrong with spending your money on things that go up your nose?

  • usually you end up going to rehab?

    :D

i think it's funny that they censored that, though.

    still great.

  • Nothing at all. I have a vast collection of cotton buds you might like to see sometime.

  • i agree with assimptotico, pure rock'n'roll at it's best, amazing!!! bands today could learn alot from eddie and the hot rods and their 'balls-to-the-wall' music!!

  • Great generation: Feelgoods, Pirates, Inmates, Wilko co.

    Great music forever!

  • rytkonen

    the best generation

eddie and the hot rods,dr feelgod the bands that, paved the way for punk. useing r/b speeded up in a uk/style

  • Great - and don't forget Mickey Jupp and Lew Lewis. Must've been something in the water down in Southend

  • Pure rock´n´roll!

  • Haven't heard this in many years. Man, my head is still boppin'! Excellent.

  • One of my fave rave tunes and a damn good band. Are the still around?

  • Try to sit still if you can, impossible.

  • OUt ____ragous

    john Birmingham MI

  • Do anything you want to do barely made the static USA top 40 in 76 77 I think...they were rockin, they did a great version of Bob Seger's Get OUt of Denver, JOHN Birmingham MI...rockin

  • Thak you very much for this...Can't believe they fell for the "lyric change" request from the censors.

    Got any more?

  • MAn this is best....I remember this watching it...anymore ??

  • for real man! The censoring changes the whole beginning of the song.
