I honestly loved Phillip and Syrena in this film. Their romance didn't obscure the rest of the film's plot line, whereas WIll's romance with Elizabeth ended up taking over the second and third movie entirely.

In this film, the romance was important, but it wasn't a contributing factor to the fate of the plot (for the most part).

One of the best sideline love stories ever made, in my opinion.
