Something which has bugged me for years, does anybody know if Busman's Holiday used Oxygene Part 4 by Jean Michel Jarre as its closing theme tune when Sarah Kennedy presented it?
It's just a random thing which I've been trying to find a definate answer to for years. It was only recently that I was able to put a name to the tune which had haunted me for over 2 decades. Heard it at the end of Micro Men on BBC4, asked around and found out what it was called.
@Jarren202 I'll have to look into that. I suppose it's a remote possibility that I've somehow confused Busman's Holiday with the show that you mention. I confused Chocky and Choc-A-Block until YouTube put me right.
@Jarren202 Some quite tightly focused searching has pointed to 2 flimsy, yet somewhat rather helpful, pieces of video on here which helped me to decide that although the show did indeed use that music as its theme tune, it's almost certainly not the one I remember it from.
Thanks for the info on that show, very much appreciated. Here are the 2 vids which I found, in case they are of any worth to you...
@97channel Wow, cool! I don't know how I missed those!
Many thanks for sharing them, fascinating to see that reworked title sequence.
Oh, and on another subject, what did you think of Micro Men? I thought it was excellent, great acting and superb capturing of the period (though if memory serves me correctly I do recall some out-of-period cars)!
@Jarren202 The subject matter of early home computing is one of my very keenest interests. I'm fascinated by tales of those pioneering days, so Micro Men very much appealed to me.
I thought it was one of the best productions in British TV of the past 10 years. And a huge discredit to not have had a more mainstream slot. It had huge educational appeal too, for those who were not around during that golden age where one of the most revolutionary resources in history took its first steps.

@97channel I'm not sure about Busman's Holiday but I do remember an 80's TV show with Miriam Stoppard on it which used Oxygene 4.
I was VERY young at the time, in fact it's the first piece of music I can recall hearing!

Cheers for that.

@97channel I just did some research myself and found that the program I remembered was called "Where There's Life".
Sadly there is no footage of it here on Youtube.

@97channel Yes, inded. So many good programs seem buried at random time slots in amongst the usual repeats of Two Pints Of Lager etc.
Perhaps Micro Men will get another showing at a later date, maybe on BBC2 at 9.00pm (which it deserved in the first place).
