  • Sweet, thanks Marty. I won't need a Uke for a while now.

  • Thumbs up for marty to sing :)

  • 3:33 totally killed me.

  • why you dont sing....:? ur voice is sooo beautiful.

ur video is good and i can learn it easily.. happily i found you

  • well done Marty!

  • i can NOT get this rhythm right -__- someone help?

  • can you type out the strum patterns? please

  • que gutarra es este modelo de martin.alguien lo sabe

  • 7:05 reaching the bottom of his range

  • Different hat every time.

  • Guys you can even make a capo, Although it wont sound as good as the real thing, using a pencil and a thick rubber band!

  • it's i'm yours ^^

  • the "uhh" parte 4:25

  • the "uuuhhh" part

  • thanks a lot,im almost done with it,great teacher,keep it up man !

  • I should really get a capo..

  • another good one marty top tutor

  • Nice background, nice guitar, nice song, nice tutorial!!! :) Keep up!!

  • Great Bro! You make the learning porcess reaally easy and funny!. .... Thumb up for the "Wake up G......C..... then go to the G cord, D cord and to A miiiiiinoooooorrrr" at 06:43 it was instructive and funny . Excellent teacher.

  • @heberazo It's an e minor...

  • This is amazing! Do I need to use a capo, though?

  • e book :) kenworthy_boy@hotmail.co.uk

  • Im still having problems with strumming this song.

  • this video is for begginer or what!!!!

  • @teka1845 that's free !!! what you want for it? man you just have to thank

  • EXECELLENT!!! Thank you very much.

  • I bet he copy-pasted 'Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole' just like I did just now :D

    Btw great lessons marty!

  • would hawaiian slack key tuning help with the sound? or is the capo to counter the standard tuning already?

  • Comment removed

  • You're fantastic ...your playing makes me smile :-) thank you

  • верь в своего пацана слышешь

  • How Do You Play It Without the capo ?

  • @TheRoneyz I used to have that problem A LOT and it was a bitch to find out tabs. My advice is to just go get one

  • @TheRoneyz CHORDS WITHOUT CAPO! : C, G, Aminor, F!

    ROCK ON CAPO-LESS!

  • i love you!!!! :D for the chords!!! <3 my fave song!

  • @ogio08 if you cant understand picking or how you play certain chords i sugest you learn some patience, and spend more time learning and practicing instead of being on youtube trying to become an amazing player overnight, because buddy, it just aint gonna happen.

  • @calamistrate if you dont have a music shop near you, dont bother using a pencil and 2 rubber bands. They are hard to position and nowhere near as reliable as ordinary capo's. I'd sugest either using barre chords or if you can't then buy a normal capo online e.g amazon or ebay

  • the strumming in this video is awful for ppl who cant pick up a pattern that fast. u need to spend more time putting the chords on ur video most people cant see them nor dot hey understand picking

  • now now now tell me. who the hell invented capo?

  • @Calamistrate People who care about playing guitar. People who are willing to invest 15-20 (american) dollars into something much more valueable than a ipad, iphone or most anything else. ;)

  • @budybody1 i was just exaggerating. i was a bit frustrated because i don't have a capo. place where i live doesn't' have a shop where you can buy or see any musical instruments. i have a classical guitar which i got from far away from my place. kinda disappointed i cannot play the song. it's my fav :) thanks for sharing anyways :)

  • @Calamistrate Yeah sorry. It get a bit frustrating to me when all you hear is "do you have to have a capo!?!" Sorry about my little rant he he....

  • @Calamistrate you can always make one out of two rubber bands and a pencil. There's a few videos on here that teach you how.

  • I love how he pronounces the "Ukulele" at 3:32

  • try this without a capo for the oooh part c e minor f c f e7 a min f ,,, then for the some where over the rainbow c e min f c f c g a min f ,,, then c g a min f,,,,,

  • i would love to sing that song with you on the guitar

  • Marty, sorry you suck at singing but rock at teaching and making your guitar sing. THX! peace sending from me and my Takamine guitar.

    oooooooooooooo ooooooooooooo ooooooooooo :D:D:D hahaha

  • To tell you the truth, Marty, I have your e-book but I have no Idea how how to read the scale chart. I don't know what a Major Root is or a Minor Root. And, the whole thing just confuses me. Could you do a video explaining it and how to play the scales?

  • MWAHAHAHAHAH i have a capo now :D

  • Comment removed

  • or go buy yourself a ukelele and play it like it should be played.

  • fuuck this strumming!!! Dx

  • Sounds 10 times better with a capo but yes this song is TTLY playable without a capo.

Put your indexfinger or forefinger on the fifth fret like a capo and then just play the chords with ur other fingers. give it a little practice

  • Can i do this with out a capo. Anyone reply thanks

  • lmao thanks for correcting the way u said "ukulele" hahaha u said like a local boy the second time lol.

  • this sounds a lot like "Im yours" by Jason Maraz if you think about it..

  • @tentris if u play it a couple of times it starts to sound like it ur rite

  • @tentris except the other way around

  • "There's a C chord and a D"! He really knows how to improvise.

  • 1:34 if you really like this song so ROCK ON :D

  • Strumming pattern makes this song, once you got it, its awesome ;)

  • Somewhere, over the raimbow... way up G !

  • dude i love you videos!!!! my gf asked je to play this song for her b-day and i looked for your video first!!! thanks... fyi your a mad ass at guitar :P

  • izreal kamakawiwo'ole

  • thumbs up for the ooooo

  • Sorry, but if you can afford a guitar, you can afford a capo! They aren't that expensive!

  • i love comments about capos :D

  • @ brozzahcheese Although I've got a capo, you do not necessarily need one if you understand would it does. By barring the strings, the capo raises the key half a tone with every position upwards. Marty plays Gmajor, Dmajor, Eminor and Cmajor, while putting the capo just before the 5th fret. It means that the capo transposes Gmajor>Cmajor, Dmajor>Gmajor, Eminor>Aminor and Cmajor>Emajor. Recapitulated you could also play C, G, Am and E without capo as long as you play them in the same octave.

  • guys seriously? a capo cost me like 1$ on ebay its not a big deal!

  • Comment removed

  • Guys, you can make your own capo with a pencil and elastic rubber band. Just put the pencil on the fifth fret and wrap it with the elastic bands tight!

  • Wow, it is fantastic but very hard for me...

  • hi capo is on the 7 th havea listen to the original that you think

  • Thank you, Marty! Very kind and thoughtful to post your knowledge!

  • 3:32 is the o'okullele

  • the strumming is actually quite hard

  • @TheTomTomfy

I just can't do it properly...

  • @TheTomTomfy complaining is for pwnded nooobs

  • @TheTomTomfy thats what she said! ;)

  • @DScrazy00 WHEYYY!!!

  • who the fuck dislikes this

  • Hey man, that's sound's amazing and beauty!

Can you try with "Someone is there" by Aselin Debison? I love this song :D

    Greetings froms México ;)

  • so in this case: G=C, D=G, Em=Am, C=F, B7th=G7th. So the second ones are all what it SOUNDS like and what you would play them as not using a capo. so if you don't have a capo or are 13 and still rely on your parents for every little thing like a $5 capo use these chords: C, G, Am, F, and G7th.

Now please... spend less time whining and just learn how to play

  • capos are NOT that big of a deal. simply put, you're using either the same chord patterns to play different keys OR different chord patterns to play the same tonal chords in higher octaves for a different feel. so: same chords=different (generally higher) key. Different chords=same key (if you use the right ones of course). think of it as moving the end of the guitar forward. that's all you're doing. so in this case, you're playing in the C key tonally but your patterns are in G.

  • capos are for ppl who are either too lazy to tune up their guitar or cant play :)

  • @xssx93 lies!

  • @xssx93 Everyone is a beginner at one time. Be nice.

  • hahahah i loved your miiineeeuuheeuheeur.;D

  • hey marty your mail is always ads..

  • Dudes stop pms-ing over not having a capo, you can buy them off amazon for like £5.00!

  • yea just bought the capodaster now going from one marty's videa to another and think guitar playing level master. TROLOLO

  • if you dont have a capo learn the alternate fingerings and mute the strings

  • does anyone else think he looks like the chicken man from toy story?

  • @ 7:05 i like how you tried to sing it high, but then you're like screw that never mind lol

  • Gotta do a full one of this marty.... yeah that includes you actually singing XD

  • Thank you!!!!

  • if u dont have a capo then commite suicide

  • It isn't usually that capo's are so expensive, it'sthat a lot of us begginers are kids/teens who can't drive, and have parents hat don't want to help us out with that, so we're usually stuck without one for a bit.

  • @PuppyPride1 slap a pen or pencil on the fretboard, and slam some rubber bands on that bad boy, (round the back of the neck...) problem solved :)

  • @bobomanthecruzan that's friggin brilliant!!! Thank you!:)

  • i found it and nice video....:)

  • my brother took my pick so i had to use a quater,,,didnt sound so good...

  • 0:15 haha

  • hahah damn capo again :/

  • Nice job.

What's the big deal about getting a capo? i got a new capo like marty's for $3 (and if that is too much money, you can get a junk one for $1.79 brand new).

@lolboy11, if you paid attention at all, he says it in the video.

The chords are G-D-E-C (repeat) then you have to change it up with a B7

  • don't you hate it when the pick falls inside the guitar! XD

  • 06:40 Cool Lyrics :D

  • I bought my capo yesterday, and now just looking for lessons that need it lol.

  • fuucking capos.

  • Marty, excellent lesson, as oosual. You really get the uke flavor with the capo. I think that the 2nd chord after the intro part is a Bm (vs. Dmaj).

Check out this excellent ooke version under the title " Ukulele lesson: More about the strum on "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" "
