at 0:30, I was saying to myself, "So you're just gonna try stuff like i did for a combination lock in a wizard101 dungeon once?" Also, Just Trying Stuff worked, people. You don't have to remember the combination to get past the combination locks in Wizard101. You can just do what you have to to find out what the combination is, and then if you forget it, just try stuff until you find something that works.

@lordguy5 You recruit a few monsters in Lufia 2, if that's what you mean.  I'd probably say "secret passage" is my favorite catchphrase, as I've used it the most.

I don't really like Jerin. I never know what to do with her in battle, since her spells are just too costly for the MP (plus, they're not that good), even with Spell Potions. I do like her multitargeting physical attack. It's weak, but the fact that it hits a group makes up for it.

As people mentioned... elves are not part of old Japanese mythology. I guess the Lost Forest thing comes from elves being magical creaures living in forest. And since (naturally) noone ever met an elf or found an elven village people thought only elves could find them. Or something like that. Anyway, it's and o~old trope and is used in about every fantasy story.

Yeah... anyway, great video, as always. Finally a complete party! Makes things so much easier.

Jerin can do single target damage. Equip a staff, though why you would is really more of a silly fancy thing. Also HCBailly, I don't know if you've done it, but keep that Flame Ring. It's almost like her equivalent of the Flash Ring, especially later on. By then though, Lufia gets a certain other ring. I'm keeping tabs on your character's speed in battle, and if STR plays a factor in it because of weight, then Aguro should wind up second fastest. This is an interesting LP.

I don't think Elves are a thing from Japanese mythology in general so I guess there wouldn't be a folk lore ore something consisting and elf guiding you through a would but I'm not sure.

I think the thing with elves guiding rpg heros through forests is because elves are known for being one with nature, and elves are cool so developers want to use every aspect of them.

As for the forest that requires an elf, I believe that stems from JRR Tolkien's works, which thus influenced D&D. D&D influenced Dragon Warrior; Dragon Warrior influenced the RPG world as a whole. In fact, I don't believe elves even existed in Japanese mythology.

@Akuatwirl I wouldn't give her the Sonic Ring I got earlier. If no enemies are weak to fire or ice in an area, I usually give her a ring that would have a speed boost, but still have other benefits as well. Speed boosting really only makes a difference en masse, which is why I'm dumping it all on Jerin.

I had major problems finding the blue tower the first time playing this game. Not sure why, seeing as it's not hidden.

I guess it just goes to show that sometimes, the hardest thing to find is the most obvious thing.

Looking at that Chomp Weed at 9:45 makes me think they took some cues from "Little Shop of Horrors". Speaking of Dragon Quest, are you planning to get DQ VI DS when it comes out in February, HC? I am. Been waiting for AGES for it to come out! Anyway, keep up the brilliant work! :)
