Why doesn't Cluny give up? His first attack was him dressed as an old woman that failed, Second was a full assault on RedWall and he ended up pretty much dead when he fell off that board. He was defeated with porridge, and he and some of his army was beat by a rabbit, squirrell, and a young mouse.

@andrepets It's not a christian series, per say, but it does teach good morals, along with epic storytelling! I would say that the books are far from being a childrens series, as I am 23 and still enjoy them immensely. They make a great read, full of action, and much more detailed than the show lets you see.

@LelouchLamperouge78 This is actually explained in the novel, although the series didn't really touch on this subject. While fire is a powerful weapon, both Redwall and the rats knew better than to use it because of how unpredictable and uncontrollable fire could be. If they burned the door down, it would have spread not only inside Redwall, but onto the grass that the rats were standing on outside. It would have been disastrous. o3o

They've messed it up somewhat. The book was consistent with characterisation whereas this isn't. In the book, neither Cornflower nor the hare would have allowed Matthias to go on such a badly thought out expedition on his own, but it was in character for Matthias to sneak off in secret as he did in the book.

@Londonman84 Oh really? I don't remember the book quite well but in the show, they probably changed it to give it a little more adventure. Plus book to show adaptions are like the novel to film adaptions, they're not always going to follow the same formula completely.

we have the audio tapes based on the book, narrated by Brian Jacques with an amazing cast of Brits (mostly Liverpool accents, but Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English,etc.). It sticks much more to the book than this. We liked the show til we heard the books. They are astounding. The show changed way too much.
