My father got me listening to Dio at the young age of, well, ever since I can remember. My dad is a true metalhead and now he suffers from esophageal cancer. Many hopes that he will overcome it. It's just strange that the cancer he has is very similar to the cancer that took the god of metal from us. RIP Dio.
Be extremely wary about what the mainline doctors and other hospital staff will try to do . . . I'll just say; it's a good idea to wise-up on how the cancer industry works.
You ought to... make him eat tons of oranges (like 20 to 50 a day) and make his daily food intake be 50% to 75% RAW (100% is unnecessary & a bad idea), cut out all cooked meats (raw fish is fine, or if he must have cooked meat, then fish only), all alcohol, all cigarettes, all sorts of junk food.

Actually, I'd be worried if you get immediate applause, the means either your performance was great, or more likely you played something ephemeral. Good songs get a while to catch on, you can do a single hit song that will enamour the crowd for a while, but that usually don't live for long. History is full of one-hit bands, sure you'll get easy money and gratification, but you'll be forgotten soon enough.
When you get on stage, you're singing for yourself, unless people want to join in, when it's great. But for all you people who think Dio is god, and want to become like he was, your only chance is to overcome the nerves for performance and overcome it. Believe in your material, the audience will catch on. If they don't, you do it anyway, because it's your material, and your the one doing it. They can go to hell. Wrong crowd is usual when starting out. Don't expect immeadiate applause.
Learn from the master, you need a little pick-me-up to sing well in studio... be it sugar-and-caffeine or a beer. Too much is of course too much. I usually sing best to recordings after 2 or 3 beers, but live I don't sing well even after 24 beers. Well, I wouldn't, but nerves get me all the time, that's why I stayed sober when I was doing live vocals.
Dio's life was this. Studio and touring. It isn't enviable, only the guys who can take it can survive it. Metal god, indeed!
Hard and Heavy was a video release magazine, not always the best, but worth it to metal music fans, picking up a copy or two. I think it should have been a bit better a production with less crap cartoon filler
Dio Band was to play once in Dayton at a new Rock venue called The Coliseum. The Venue never got repairs and the inspection failed so Dio was left to setup gear at a small, small bar. Heh. The stage was, so small, cramped to the gills, Dio being in this small dive carried on as fifty thousand ppl were watching. The band was a finger away there, Ronnie at the beginning yelled for a stand or a box to sing on as he said he wanted to see the ppl as he was short. Awesomely Funny, and brilliant
Now since he is passed on I am forever trying to get and find comparable groups as wherever he went it was stellar. No one else STACKS UP! Magica is my fav album with Mob Rules #2 and of course this compilation. I forever could hang myself, back in,around 92 or whenever he went on this tour as I had tickets to see it at Hara Arena, but being one ticket short as I had my two girls I then decided to sell them. Someone plz send me a rope and a three legged chair, STOO-PID!!! More next post.

Damn, listen to that..."this is a slot machine, this is where we gamble our future". Dio was a gentleman, and not conceited at all, he recognizes he had to work hard to secure the future through his music, instead of pretending that being such a star meant everything he did would be automatically good and that he had everything resolved. Actually, I'd be worried if you get immediate applause, the means either your performance was great, or more likely you played something ephemeral. Good songs get a while to catch on, you can do a single hit song that will enamour the crowd for a while, but that usually don't live for long. History is full of one-hit bands, sure you'll get easy money and gratification, but you'll be forgotten soon enough.

When you get on stage, you're singing for yourself, unless people want to join in, when it's great. But for all you people who think Dio is god, and want to become like he was, your only chance is to overcome the nerves for performance and overcome it. Believe in your material, the audience will catch on. If they don't, you do it anyway, because it's your material, and your the one doing it. They can go to hell. Wrong crowd is usual when starting out. Don't expect immeadiate applause.

Learn from the master, you need a little pick-me-up to sing well in studio... be it sugar-and-caffeine or a beer. Too much is of course too much. I usually sing best to recordings after 2 or 3 beers, but live I don't sing well even after 24 beers. Well, I wouldn't, but nerves get me all the time, that's why I stayed sober when I was doing live vocals.
Dio's life was this. Studio and touring. It isn't enviable, only the guys who can take it can survive it. Metal god, indeed!

Hard and Heavy was a video release magazine, not always the best, but worth it to metal music fans, picking up a copy or two. I think it should have been a bit better a production with less crap cartoon filler

Dio Band was to play once in Dayton at a new Rock venue called The Coliseum. The Venue never got repairs and the inspection failed so Dio was left to setup gear at a small, small bar. Heh. The stage was, so small, cramped to the gills, Dio being in this small dive carried on as fifty thousand ppl were watching. The band was a finger away there, Ronnie at the beginning yelled for a stand or a box to sing on as he said he wanted to see the ppl as he was short. Awesomely Funny, and brilliant

Now since he is passed on I am forever trying to get and find comparable groups as wherever he went it was stellar. No one else STACKS UP! Magica is my fav album with Mob Rules #2 and of course this compilation. I forever could hang myself, back in,around 92 or whenever he went on this tour as I had tickets to see it at Hara Arena, but being one ticket short as I had my two girls I then decided to sell them. Someone plz send me a rope and a three legged chair, STOO-PID!!! More next post.

Damn, listen to that..."this is a slot machine, this is where we gamble our future". Dio was a gentleman, and not conceited at all, he recognizes he had to work hard to secure the future through his music, instead of pretending that being such a star meant everything he did would be automatically good and that he had everything resolved. Too bad he is not here anymore, rest in peace.
