just built a pc with the same mobo but a bigger chip and some nice xmp memory .. would recommend this mobo to any 1 whos finally switching from an older system ..
Hey, I just made a video of me overclocking my I-7(920) using 2 freezers...one for the north/south bridge and the other for the i-7 CPU. Could you check it out and tell me what you think. Its called "Overclocking I-7(920) using two Freezers"
If you think about it, building something like this is a great investment. This computer could last you for 7 years, well, not this one.. but one almost like it.. say with a newer video card and overclocked to 4.0+
very close to the parts Ive ordered! I also would like to paint my HAF932 black inside - I took it apart (tho I didnt unrivet) what primer does well with galvanized steel?
Fuck i thought Mine looked good yours looks Awesome. What do you think of the socket 1156 i5s I have socket i7 950 and P6T deluxe. is it true the if dual channel boards only support GPU at 16 x or 2 at 8x.
Do you have any problems with that heatsink and the side fan of the case?
I already have a NH-U12P mounted on a AM2+ chip, but am swapping to the P6T V2 and i7 920 soon.
Want a new case to go with, as this Thermaltake Xaser 3 is showing it's age now, but i had to take away my side fans because the heatsink is to big.... Don't want the same problem with my next case as this Noctua with 2 of the fans is amazing tbh. Cheers
very nice build! 5* We have similar builds at the moment.painted and modded case also. Are you OC'ing If so and if you don't mind I would like to know your results.
you have got the high end parts but a rubbish gpu lol you should of bought the dual gtx 295 in sli, if you had enough money, or if u didnt go with the triple gtx 280 or 285 i think they are called lol
Right. I didn't buy the most expensive video card(s) that exist.
Video cards can always be upgraded.
Also, I don't need the sli, so having that kind of drag on my budget was unnecessary, unless I was trying to do something childish, like overspend on something I have no need for in order to laugh at people who didn't spend their hard-earned money on the same.
Besides--this model runs a little cooler than the competitor's similar model card.
Did you put the 3 memory rams in the same color ( orange?) or did you do black, orange, black? cus i ve heard you have to put em in the same color ;s is it true? please help me i m a noob :P
in the video post " HAF 932 Gaming Computer (Watch In High Quality) " He mounted the NH-U12P vertically , so do you recommend i mount mine his or your way ?
Honestly, I've never mounted the Noctua that way, so I can't say for sure that my way is the best. I can tell you that my system runs cool with the CPU temp idling at 40-42C.
Having watched his video, it looks as if the only benefit is cosmetic, which, of course, is subjective.
I love the swinging door. I am going to build an i7 system here pretty soon and am also going to use the haf 932. however i don't think i will have the patience to make mine as nice as yours.
I read how so many people suggested painting the interior of the HAF 932 all black. You sir are the first person I've actually seen do it and it looks great. Also the door swinging on hinges, brilliant. One of the most pratical and useful mods I've seen done to this case. Although I'm going to stick with the red and black theme of the original your build is very nice none the less.
Dude awesome spec man,i have the same tower too..Dude if you dont mind would you explain me how do you modify the side panel..check out my video and comment it
Thanks, Vii288. Your system is also great. Good job on the build.
As far as how to modify the side panel/tower, this format doesn't allow for me to fully describe every step of the way in a sufficient way, unfortunately. I just tried, and the youtube comment editor here won't allow me to type over 500 characters.
Honestly, it would serve us both better if you asked me a more narrow question about the process, instead of having me go from start to finish in this context.
Not at all! I'm kinda picky about system noise, and I was pleasantly pleased with this case. The only fan (out of 4) that makes any sound is the rear one. It's a 140mm fan, whereas the three others are 230mm, with bigger fan blades, turning at a lower rpm (less/no noise). All in all, it is a very low noise system.
<3 The clash. Great build btw.

try wearing a black shirt and a white shirt in the sun.
Bet the white one is cooler?
knurry007 2 years ago
Yeah I know, but that isn't with painting a case black.
keelsies00 2 years ago
It only holds heat when it comes from a light source... Like the sun... It doesn't hold the heat from an computer part...

For gaming at 1920*1080 would a core i7 be worth the extra cash over the core2/core i5

Is this build mainly for gaming or other stuff? Because that would explain the 3870.
