  • really?

  • he has more than one son i think

  • Julian is his older son from another women. Sean was his son from yoko.

  • Yeah Julian is his illegitimately conceived son with Cynthia.

  • so much moving... :( john i love you!! you'll be forever and ever in our hearts!

  • this is also perfect song by john but imagina is way better after my opinion

  • Lucy in the sky with diamonds was a song inspired by a drawing his other son JULES made of a girl in his school named Lucy

Hey Jude was a song Paul McCartney wrote for JULES as John and his first wife got divorced...

This song Beautiful Boy was written for his second son, Sean who's John's and Yoko's son

  • Oh cool i didn't know that. but isn't his son's name Julian??

  • is this technically a beatles song or just john lennon??

  • just jonh lennon

  • I love this song, my husband sing it to our son.

  • I Know. this song makes me cry because it says "I can hardly wait to see you come of age" :'( but he died before he could see him come of age. :'( R.I.P. John Lennon. Beautiful beautiful beautiful, beautiful song.

  • This song always makes me cry R.I.P Lennon

  • i feel sorry for his first son julian who didnt get a song written for him

  • paul mccartney wrote hey jude for julian but john didn write him 1

  • that is incorrect. John wrote 'Goodnight" from the White Album for Julian.

  • and lucy in the sky with diamonds was written for him i think

  • well, "Hey Jude" was written by Paul and dedicated to Julian. So, in fact is a Lennon/McCartney song...

  • actually "Hey Jude" was written for him...

  • Am I wrong...or does it have an oriental feel to it.

  • This music, it's fantastic for me. Very special for the message. Thanks!

  • I loved this song when it was sung in the movie "Mr. Hollands Opus" where Mr. Holland sings it in sign language to his deaf son, Cole! :')

  • you know i realize that the song means somthing good, but i dont like the song

  • sweat

    that's a very moving song

  • i thought ringo wrote good night

  • avatarspade: no John just let Ringo sing 'Goodnight'

  • John Lennon was one of the best song writers the world has ever heard

  • "life is what happens when your busy making other plans" -Jhon Lennon RIP

  • That is the best quote I ever heard...and it's so true! ^_^

  • my dad told me that is was the first song i ever heard...i really love song.....almost brings a tear to your eye doesnt it..haha

  • I have a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy.

    My son John

  • Csodaszép álom......szeretlek, John Lennon !

  • john shoud've done it for julian 2 iz he forgetting that julian is johns son....julian was so adorable when he was younger

  • yeah and now Jullian is very hansom just like John Lennon was.

  • Good Night is for Julian, Same with Hey Jude

  • but PAUL wrote hey jude x.x

  • I´m crying

  • is this about julian or sean?

  • it is about sean. john sings his name in the end "darling Sean"

  • lol, oh yeh :D didnt notice thatr :)

isnt that kind of sly on Julian? :(

  • if you believe in your self and in love you delieve in GOD.

  • in your world

  • This Song Should Be The Anthem of David Goldman for his Son Sean, held captive along with 70 other Amercian Children, by Brazils's Corrupt Judicial System. I'm sure he want's SEAN to know that no matter what, he's coming for him.

  • This is the saddest song ever because john was killed shortly after making this amazing, touching, wonderful song

  • Listening to this song makes me feel so sad. All the stuff he says about waiting... it just makes me feel so bad that he's gone now and never had a chance to see it. I still can't help but feel sorry for Julian though, it must have been even more difficult for him... <3

  • "say a little prayer"

Did John Lennon believe in God and when was this song made?

  • I think he didnt believe in god:)

  • Then why'd he say "say a little prayer" in the song?

  • You know that you can pray in every religon? He might have believed in something it dont always has to be "God" you know.

  • might I tell you, that every religion has some sort of praying in them? It's not always your jesus christ thingie, or what ever you people want to believe in..

  • you people? and Jesus Christ is not a thingy.

  • life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

    john lennon was amazing

  • xxBIOHAZARD10xx, it's too bad you are an impotent bitch whose father did not love him. Poor bastard, sorry you will not ever understand the message and power of love from a father to his son like in this song.

  • i'll say just two words to you.

    FUCK OFF :)

  • This is the first time, I heard the song. This is one of the best songs ever I have heard. Such melody, touching words and not to mention about the voice!

  • I feel the same. So powerful. I hope and pray I will be the best father I can be.

  • this is the saddest song ever

  • i love this song

  • My mom used to sing this song to me when I was little. I love it so much.

  • beautiful

  • Amazing song but I wish John would have payed as much attention to Julian as he did Sean. Rumor has it Julian was the inspiration to Hey Jude but I mean Julian didn't even start talking to John again until right before he died.

  • I agree. And John didn't even write Hey Jude for Julian, Paul did.

  • Excellent song. It's depressing to see that Lennon wrote this just before he was gunned down, and would never see Sean come of age.

  • that line makes me cry every time

  • Love this song, but only wished that John had lavished as much love on Julian as he did on Sean?

  • I lost my own beautiful son called sean, and this song helps so much, to me its as if it was written for him.

    R.I.P my Sean

  • Trust me hes in a much better place, this world sucks. This song is amazing.

  • I found your note on fate...sorry to hear of your loss...I have three beautiful boys and would be lost without them. God bless you, Julie

  • With all the hatred that is going on in this world and the killing....well pretty soon all of our sons and daughters will be dead due to careless leaders like bush when he was president......Im very sorry for your loss........if its not too personal how did he pass away?

  • oonamega <<< and you're another ignorant dumbass - keep drinking the radical liberal kool-aid - Obama depennds on your ignorance!

  • very sorry for your loss. I'm sorry people had to turn into some political diatribe. May he rest in peace. May you find comfort and happiness despite your loss. God bless.

  • I cry every time I listen to this wonderful song that John sang about his 5 year old son Sean and how tragically it all ended on that fateful night of Dec. 8,1980.

  • ignorant

  • Why would you think your daughters are pretty, and pricesses?

It´s LOVE, stupid. To bad your father never told you any terms of endearment.

  • When you have a son, may you understand how incredible love is.

Iguess your parents never told you those things, or sang a lullaby to you, but I hope you do it to your children.

  • Very kind-hearted, sincere reply in the midst of what seems to me to have been a fight, about to break out. Yes: hope that everyone sings love songs to their children. Hope, too--as unlikely as it seems--that your interlocutor had a lullaby or two sung to him/her as well. Everybody needs to be loved, don't they? Humans and all, we need that, and the worst of us deserve it, too.

  • ?????

    are you retarded??

the hots for his own son??

parental love?? ever heard of it???

  • you know these things...

yeah really you where probably there having a gay relation with him when he wrote the song right?

dude just shut up there is no way on earth you'll ever find anyone agreeing with you.

especially since he actually says the name of his son in the end.

  • Comment removed

  • Totally agree in taking Lennon's defense against anyone trying to smear him with homophobic comments. And, no, he was not gay: this is the kind of love song to a son that only a man comfortable with his heterosexuality would sing. (Repressed homosexuals often slap their kids around, instead, and call them "sissies.") BUT calling one of the best singers and musical geniuses of all time "gay" is NOT necessarily a bad thing. Let me cite: FREDDIE MERCURY. PYOTR TCHAIKOVSKY. Gay's okay, too, guy.

  • .. so if someone is a musical genius he cannot be called gay or even be gay??

i'm not saying he is, but he's just human and thus could have been gay.Even if he was, that would be no problem imho, its just sad gscwalkthrough makes this song into a gay love song while it is clearly about his son.

  • GSCwalkthrough, That's called " Love "

We get " Love " from our parents,

    family and friends.

    It's a shame you can't understand

    this wonderful concept.

I saw your profile. Its as empty as your comment.

    Very sad.

    New York City

    D.J. Sal Z.

  • John and Freddy are a diferent person..... the 2 make music, real music, sensible music, great music..

    is my opinion...

  • John Lennon has to be the greatest person who ever lived...

    well in my opinion

  • okey but for me that person was Freddie Mercury:)) but i have a lot of respect for john Lennon :) peace

  • Freddie Mercury was a pretty cool guy too :]

  • Genial!!!

  • is this song torward his sons sean or julian or toward paul?

  • It's for Sean.

  • i use this as my ring tone and answer tone on my cell for my own beautiful boy(darling boy)......

what a great human response from Lennon

  • Beautiful song absolutley love it. Great job on the video. John Lennon Forever!

  • I originally thought this song was about Paul, no joke.

Then I listened to the lyrics...

John Lennon was a great lyricist, and he will always remain the best.

We need John now more than ever. Fuck chapman. Burn in hell, RIP John

  • Yeah, what a shame John never got to see Paul grow up..

  • Paul??

  • Paul McCartney..

  • Of course Paul McCartney, but I think LogInAnders means Sean Lennon, who the song is written to...

Anyway... This song never becomes borring; it remains a masterpiece.

  • i like this song i listened to it because of the book "TWEAK" by nic sheff, amazing song and book...

  • dude that's the same reason i went and looked this song up...beautiful song and the book...man howdy the book...brutal in its reality

  • This song makes me sad because I used to sing this to my daughter (as "Beautiful Girl"), and I don't get to see her.

  • why don't you get to see your daughter?

My daughter's song was "river of dreams" by Billy Joel. When she passed away I can no longer listen to the song.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I don't see her because my ex won't let me, and since I'm not the biological father, I have no recourse.

  • Damn pinko commies

  • it's awesome

even tho i never met you,

i love you and miss you john.

  • sorry i dont agree i have often cried with overwhelming emotion. absolutely nothing wrong with me

  • Why do people cry to this song?- Its not sad, its happy

  • I agree, its happy song, but the message to the song is to Sean, pretty much saying, "I can hardly wait to see you come of age...", which he never got to do.

  • Because happiness sometimes makes us cry. .

Also, there's so much love in this beautiful song, and yet it's terribly sad to realise how utterly poor a substitute it must be for a real, living father. I'm sure Sean would rather hear his father's real vocie just once than hear this a million times over.

    Yes. it's happy. But that's what's sad.

  • exactly.

  • well i think its that a legend like lennon died such a tragic death

  • Nice Song xD

  • lennonfan94, have u seen a video where paul cries with this song?

  • me too :(

  • john is the best.. he is the real music... when he died, music died with him :(

  • I agree with you. I feel like I have to cry when I hear his songs ...

  • esta es una buena cancion

  • awesome soong @: makes me cry.

    i love john lennon.

    -.-'

he's my one true inspiration, and opened my eyes to the real music

and the the true musicians...never die in soul (:

    thank you john :D

  • my dad used to play it for me every night befor i went to bed i i im crying of joy lising to it <3

  • my mom cried when he said "see you in the morning"

  • Beautiful <3

    Very moving

  • Can we just listen to the beautiful music? Both John and Paul were terrific artists and will always be remembered for their music. Years from now, we will never talk about who was better. All that matters was BOTH of their masterpieces that they contributed to the musical world.

  • Paul and John were equals. There's no two ways about it and I think after all the competition and rivalry they would agree. They were both insecure about the other at times, they were always trying to top each other. John hated that Paul's songs got covered more than his, Paul hated that most people's favorite Beatle (including Linda's, before she met him) was John.

  • Heeey r u past puberty, I didn't say Lennon wasn't one of the greatest songwriters and songmakers that ever lived, if you think those songs I named to name of few that Mccartney did are amongest the greatest most played popular rock songs then you need to stop smoking crummy herb your memory fogged up. Ya know read more and learn your beatles then come back to me. I been listening to the beatles for 38 yrs.

  • life is what happens to you while you;re busy making other plans!! Only John Lennon could write that?! Genius! R.I.P. John.

  • Lennon was a great human, but what u don't know is that Julian once said that he wished for dad to love him as much as he loved world peace. Peace starts home.

  • Listen boys and girls, McCartney was more prolific: Let it Be, Hey Jude, Winding road, Rigby, Blkbird, Two of us, Get back, Natures son, Rocky Raccoon, She's leaving home, Yesterday, etc, etc, if any fucking band could write one of these songs just one they'd be on Letterman/Leno.

Lennon/Harrison Genius no doubt....That talentless Yoko sucked onto Lennon and fucked with his head we all know it can we at least be honest she helped breakup the band.

She wanted Lennon all to herself. Grt sng.

  • ? Fu.

  • Comment removed

  • I like She's leaving home. But yeah I thought John was better. Especially after they split up.

  • this is a beautiful song but i wish it was also dedicated to julian , julian is just as much john's son as sean is

  • Interesting point

  • but jullian also got a song, hey jude is about him. not a lot a people no that

  • yes but paul had written and sung that song , and in this song for sean john sings it for sean from the heart

  • actually it was orignaly written and performed by the beatles in 1970.

  • Yes But John Didn't do enything to anybody and he shot down thats unfair;)

  • my dad sang this to me when i was 3 in bed

  • I always thought if "Boy" was changed to "Child" and "Sean" to "Child" that the song would be more generic. This song was written specifically for a specific person. I think to spend that kind of creative energy for a specific person is to give a truly priceless and unique gift. As for me, I think I will keep this song in mind, if I have to care for a child. :)

  • He wanted to see his son grow up and that crazy man just killed him John didn't deserve to die I cryed so much when he died

  • crazy man? that's pretty daft. i love how nobody puts it together that he was killed after the united states government unsuccessfully tried to have him deported, according to several witnesses chapman crouched down, pulled a 38. snub nosed revolver from his pocket, paused for 10-15 seconds, said ''excuse me, mr. lennon'' waited for john to stop then fired. all while standing directly in front of 2 security guards. in that 50 seconds those lazy bastards couldn't stop him? bullshit

  • this reminds me of david sheff's book 'beautiful boy' (named after this song) and nic sheff's tweak. read them. they're amazing.

  • *sniff sniff* beautiful quote

  • Why all good people die:( I love this song(L)

  • Cause all people die..

  • I would really like to slowly tourture the asshole who assassinated Lennon. His name is not worth mentoning.

  • this song is about john's son sean lennon. it says his name in the song

  • Paul dedicated this song to John in a video named 'Paul cries about John' found on youtube. It is sooooo touching i reccomend all of you to see this

  • Imagine is better but it is still awsome

  • huhuhu dramatic naman!!! pahingi ng tissue!!

  • Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans.

  • so true.

  • greatest quote EVER !!

  • john lennon a big person ... fuck chapman!!! the beatles forever!

  • Love this song

  • I'm very surprised this song has never been used in a Movie or Tv. It's such a beautiful song. RIP John.

  • the song was used in Mr. Holland's Opus, Richard Dreyfus sang it to his deaf son.

  • What did his deaf Son think of it?

  • holland's a music teacher and the thing he loves the most is teaching music. it pains him that he can't share it with his son. when john lennon dies he is upset and his son tries to comfort him but he doesn't think that his son can appreciate the loss of lennon. his son let's him know that he know who john lennon is and that he also feels the loss. finally richard dreyfus is able to express to his son how much he loves him by singing and signing beautiful boy. not a dry eye in the house.

  • wate wate wate..... im confused... dont deaf mean u cant hear?

  • He also did the song in sign language while he sang it.

  • I'm making a promise to myself and my family that I will live this message to the world...

  • his voice and the lyrics and just amazing:) love it, one of the very few things in life that makes me smile

  • this is one of the most beautiful songs in the world, no doubt about it.

  • I can't agree more. Its a song sent by god.

  • Don't you mean John Lennon?

  • Its a song sent by the gods, people who at the time, in there prime, were bigger than god.

  • "I can hardly wait to see you come of age" . . . how sad.

but it's getting better all the time

  • this song is just beautiful

  • Rly sad song im cryn T_T

  • for Sean
