Personally the only time I care what others believe is when what they believe is the impetus to cause unnecessary suffering.

Its just that the bible is worded so differently than what he is talking about, you can thank King James for that, that no one ever really understood it until now. @matt3i6 You say you know this, but do you really feel it? I do intentionally leave it out, why because if God is evident anywhere she would be resident in the heart(spiritually) of ALL living beings God/Love is what intimately connects us ALL. So by loving others we are also loving God, who as Jesus taught resides in the kingdom of heaven WITHIN us. My sense of intimate connected with ALL life compels me as it did Jesus & saint Francis of Assisi to not cause unnecessary suffer, I'm am vegan, U?

And speaking of Francis of Assisi - the most famous quote is totally un-Biblical - to "Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words." well , it is written to "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction." 2 Timothy 4:2

@matt3i6 Francis of Assisi felt the truth behind the words that Jesus spoke, his neighbors were not just humans but all creatures, as he understood what Jesus mean't when he said when he told people that what you do to the least of these you did to me, again a reference to the insight Jesus had that we are our neighbor.
JC implored us to be like little children, the reality of truth can't be so complicated that a child cannot feel & know God(love). The Bible at best is spiritual kindergarten!

Genesis alone is enough to debunk your "it can't fail" theory.... God created the ENTIRE universe in 6 days and boy at the end of it all he was so tired he had to rest... you know with him being all-powerful and all... but the universe is big so its understandable, it must have taken a lot out of the guy... lol

@matt3i6 How many religions/people made predictions that came true does not mean they are always right. The bible is not for everyone some of us need alot more or a different form of spirituality. And I dont believe it helps to try and force Christianity onto people who are already content with what they believe in no matter what it is. it just brings about conflict

I dont think so, I believe there are other ways of acquiring it not only the gospel. Believe me I have nothing against the Bible but I dont think its the only way. we should be free to explore other avenues.

@superkinoti Nobody can force Christianity on anyone. i can tell you about it but "ye must be born again" You can read God's word in the Holy Bible but still "ye must be born again" It's all the work of God. Jesus said "I came to seek and to save the lost" He seeks - he saves.
You can take all the works, wisdom and knowledge in the world apart from his word and you'll come up blank - man can search for eternity and won't find God. "the world through its wisdom knew not God" 1 Corinthians 1:21

@superkinoti Me too, however, Eckhart does brings contemplative spiritual insight to biblical verses, eg.. Eating of the fruit of the tree of knowledge & Love your neighbor as yourself.... really quite beautiful.

@superkinoti The bible teachs what Eckhart is talking about though. So that doesn't make sense. Its just that the bible is worded so differently than what he is talking about, you can thank King James for that, that no one ever really understood it until now. I've watched and read all of Eckhart's books, then I re-read the bible, and the new testament is EXACTLY the same thing Eckhart is trying to teach people. This whole thing about the 2nd coming of christ, is the self realization of humanity

I used to wonder why Christen attacks New agers, Muslim and liberals. I found my answer. The house of Jesus is like house of cards and seriously falling apart. As man becoming more intellectual and educated he started to realized that religion is fake and manipulated. Eckhart simply advocates a redirection of our conscious focus of awareness away from the often turbulent thoughts that unceasingly run through the mind. Jesus did this when he went for 40days & nights into wilderness. Jesus also advocated love, it was his greatest commandment, why love, because when we manifest love we manifest God, 1 John 4:8 God is Love

@veganath Jesus said the highest command was "Love the LORD your God with all your heart, mind and soul" then "love your neighbor as yourself" because if you aren't right with God you simply can't love proper. He was also quoting Deuteronomy when he said that. Eckhart and Oprah teach the Divine within, you are your own god, this is so anti-Bible, anti-God it's nothing new but it's as old as the garden of Eden where Eve fell for the same lie "then ye shall be as gods knowing good and evil"

@matt3i6 Upon JC's arrival he declared he was a messenger of God, later JC felt he was as close to God as a son, near the end of his ministry, his love for God moved him to declare that he & the father were one(John 10:30), perhaps this is our spiritual journey too.
