i found a fan like this today in my basement i have no clue where it came from it has the metal blades on it but has a tall stand on it and 5 blades do you have any idea when these were made? I think its 1960's mine is missing the handle. i plugged it in and it worked i was not suprissed they made the old fans to last!
---NOTICE--- I was in formed that a company called The Two Guys in New Jersey marketed small home appliances including box fans, and marketed them with Vornado on it. The Company went out of business in the 1970s.
I recognize the grille on it: In my highschool my 12th grade English teacher a later model of this fan with 5 metal blades and electrically reversible.
I have one.

You need a stand for this fan. I can't get mine to stand up on its own when it's on high.

Very nice! I can't believe someone was just going to toss that nice old fan, it's so much better made than the new fans.
Good one on you for saving it.
