  • lol for the first 3 minutes I was yelling, "Its a twist off!" One of my favorite beers...my store gets a case a week so I make sure to grab them up fast...I even got a matching glass to go with it...this has to be one of the best looking label/aesthetic designs ever. A 6 pack of this alongside a 6 pack of regular shiner usually makes for my Friday night.

  • @jvrlopez thats what turned me on to shiner bock was the yellow and red and the ram... i never liked beer until i drank shiner

  • Your cool! FIrst time I've ever watched a review of yours. I will be watching more.

  • Hm! You seem like a happy guy.

  • this is a good beer, but i prefer regular Shiner bock over it

  • Enjoing your reviews while I am having one ... eh no, the second of the best lagers I have ever dipped my tongue into, Bernard, Czech product, lots of gold medals and all, started up production in 1991 after the dreary planned economy gave way to the private beer initiative.

By the way, let me give you another recommendation: Dark Horse of Denmark. Fooxxxyy lady!

    Cheers, Ultima Thule!

  • My favorite beer.

  • Taste like coffee to me

  • Had my first one today, enjoyed it very much.

  • cool!

  • nice beer..having 1 for the 1st time as watch this.

  • got this one chillin in the freezer for fast cooling, it'll be my first dark beer

  • Your a chill dude. You make a simple video very entertaining. 5 thumbs up!

  • Before I drank this I searched for your review because you are awesome. It seemed to me this time that maybe you had done several reviews right before this one haha.

  • I prefer the dunkelweizen or the the bock. I would drink shiner more except they jacked up the price more than $2 a six pack, up to $8 for a freakin six pack...

  • Enjoying a sierra nevada while watching today, Great review!

  • my fav shiner is summer stock but can;t find it anymore. The black lager is my 4th fav

  • One thing I found odd is that all the shiner blacks I've had were twist off.

  • @super0pimp As far as I know Shiners are all twists offs.

  • @jjdaven lol sooooo why not just twist it open?

  • @jjdaven me too... this uy is faggot

  • @jjdaven me too... this guy is faggot

  • best beer EVER.

  • This is my favorite beer of all time. Sooooo good. God bless Texas

  • if you think zieglen is as good ans shiner than your not a texan

by the way its pronounced as spe-tzel

    good reviews

  • @emzyk indeed I love me some shiner, but I didn't care for the z-bock at all. I let my wife have the other 5 lol.

  • Drank one of these with you while you reviewed it. I seemed to notice a high carbonation feel on the end with the smokey taste.

Good beer but I prefer a creamy stout with more coffee flavor.

Good review! Enjoyed "drinking" with you.

  • I love hearing from people that have a beer while watching the reviews that's great. Sometimes the smokey taste can be a bit much. Thanks for sharing a beer with me and for watching.

  • @WheatBeerByron I drank my very first one along with watching the video too!

Its so much fun...it's like we are sitting across the table and comparing notes as we go....

I have to agree with the review...not bad, but not something i need to do again....once was enough, its nice, not great.....

  • Hey man, if you liked Shiner Bock, then I recommend that you review ZiegenBock, which is essentially Anheuser-Bush's answer to Shiner. Being a Texan, I personally think that it is just as great, and even better in its own ways.

  • Thank for the suggestion. I will look for it.

  • I tired Ziegen Bock while i was in texas, and personally it was better that shiner.

  • @enblessin207 you dont think its kind of watered down it doesnt seem to have that crisp like shiner

  • @enblessin207 that is a terrible beer

  • I want to see a video of you getting tanked. You seem like the coolest bro to get tanked with in my opinion. Cheers to beers.

  • Thank you so much for watching.

  • ha i love all my fellow texans on here reminding u shiner is twist off

  • Ha-ha ya that is good they reminded me. Thanks for watching.

  • pimp shirt man lol much luv gooo Lager!!

  • I sometimes forget about this one, but it is a good lager. Thanks for watching.

  • I know you can twist them but I have that habit of using the opener.

  • love this beer its wonderful

  • It is a great beer. Thanks for watching and enjoy your beers.

  • dude you know thats a twist off cap

  • Haha, I hate when I do that. I get so used to pry tops I open them all that way.

  • Thats it Im gonna go buy some and try it ! lol thanks for the info bro

  • Kool. You'll have to let me know what you think. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • Not bad, Im not crazy about it , however I can appreciate it, I'm a huge shiner fan so I have my favs already but I wanna start venturing out of my stubborn small little world lol

  • oh by the way I hardly ever post but always watch your videos. your cool as shit.

  • That is a very nice thing to say. Thank you.

  • you don't need a opener it's a twist off!

  • Oh your right. I get so used to pull offs that I becomes habit. Thanks for watching.

  • Man, there's nothing as beautiful as the Bosque!

  • Agreed!!!

  • Sup bro. wowowowye1 here, lost my password for my old account lol. I drink my beers man style too dude. None of that pinky up stuff from me ;-)

    Good review Joe.

  • I hate when I forget my pass! That sucks Bro.

  • i like to save the botles, i gotta find some of that black lager

  • The 100 year commemorator was good too if you can find that. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • I can't get Shiner in Canada, but I told my parents to try and find some American craft beers when they went down to South Carolina and I mentioned Shiner. They brought me back a 6 pack of the Black Lager and I loved it. I know what you mean when you say its not quite a two, because it has that kind of 1-dimensional characteristic of a lager, but it's definitely tasty and a good session beer. That 6 pack didn't last long! Great Review.

  • I am so glad you got back to me with you opinion on this beer. It is a very good session beer. Thanks for watching.

  • Shiner's has been trying to stretch their product line but besides Shiner Bock, they are hard to find, even in East Texas.

And after trying the Shiner Blonde (which tasted simular to Budwieser - nothing special) and their Hefeweizen (if you love a sweet beer give it a shot), I still think Bock is their best beer. If I can ever find it, I will give the Bohemian Black Lager a try.

  • I really liked the Commemorator. That 100 year anniversary beer. It was so good I drank the whole six pack before I could review it.

  • shiner black is a favorite of mine

  • A lot of people really like this brew. I think it is ok as well. Thanks for watching.

  • "nah i got the same thing chuggin the beer bro." hahah priceless. i like the beers you review man. and also because you made guinness sound like the amazing beer it is.

  • Both Guinness and this beer are really good. But I do drink Guinness a lot though. haha. Thanks for watching.

  • upon further viewing, one can conclude that this guy is an idiot.

  • Thanks for your opinion. Keep watching and maybe you will change your mind or if not at least be inspired to enjoy different beers!!

  • I can conclude that you (mljonesy) are an idiot just by reading your comment.

  • Shiner beer has twist off caps

  • Thank you for the comment. Keep watching and tell a friend.

  • it was a pretty good review however from my perspective, out of the bottle, the malt and roasted flavor was far more dominant to the hops. good review but please spend less time talking about the caps.

  • Haha, I started collecting the caps a while back. Sorry that bugs you. Check out some of my other reviews I normally don't go on and on about them. Thanks for watching.

  • Another great review, dig the music! I agree, Shiner Black 1 thumb up. Try a New Belgium 1554 Enlightened Black Ale... slap your momma good 2 thumbs cross-eying into 4! Oh yeah, nice belch LMAO!

    Woody

  • Thanks Woody. I have already reviewed 1554 but just haven't posted it yet. I should get that posted within the week. Thanks for watching.

  • sweet man you reviewed it!

  • Glad to see you watched it. Thanks for the input.

  • great review and same as you love the smoke

  • Thanks for watching!!

  • ¿uʍop ǝpısdn ǝdʎʇ noʎ pıp ʍoɥ

  • lol..oops. i wus trying to do a audio preview.lol

    srry bout that.

  • That is a cool trick typing upside down. Keep watching and tell a friend.

  • Dude ur the man!

    Shiner is all i drink

  • Shiner is a great beer. I would encourage you to at least think about experimenting with other brews as well. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • Try it hot!

    John

  • Wow, hot as in room temp. or as in stove hot? Never would have thought.

  • I hear it is just as good at room temperature.

    John

  • It's ok after the first few chugs!

    Take Care,

    John

  • Thank you for your input. Keep watching and tell a friend.

  • thats what i like about your reviews... you tell us what the beer taste like as a normal person drinks it, chugs it whatever, you excaplain how it taste, ifits good or not and thats all we need to know. i like how you just go out there like a regular joe just drinking your beer... CHEERS

  • Thank you very much. That is exactly what I am trying to do here. Thank you for noticing. Keep watching, enjoy more brews and tell a friend.

  • Nice review again. I'm likin' the graphics and specialized tshirts lately.

I'm drinking a beer called Dead Guy Ale from Rogue brewery in Oregon right now! It's got some pretty intense flavor...but no smoke when you open it :(

  • Thank you for the input. I have seen that brew but just never picked it up. Good thing I didn't no smoke would have bummed me out. Thank you for watching.

  • Great review! I'm drinking a beer called Mountaineer Nut Brown Ale right now. It's good stuff, really smooth with a hint of chocolate. You should try it

  • Great mini review! Love the input. I have added it to the list. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • i like this beer quite a bit... Shriner can brew a very nice beer!(im not just saying that because i live in Texas.lol) you should definitely check out Shriner's 99 Helles Lager, i had a few the other day and just fell in love with them.

nice review bro! keep em comin!

  • Thank you for the compliment Bro. I put that one on the beer list. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • good review bro but whats the name of the song at the begining

  • You know I have no idea. The guy I got that mix from makes a podcast that I listen too. So I have no idea what the names of the songs he put it there. Thank you for your input.

  • Good review on the 'ol 97! It's a little too bitter on the aftertaste for me but if it's being served at the next event I go to, I will not shun "The Darkness".

BTW: Shiner has another brew out: Shiner Holiday Cheer. Brewed with peaches and roasted pecans...EXCELLENT!

  • Hey thanks Tex! I will keep my eye out for that one. Thanks for continuing to watch.

  • I love your reviews, Bro! By the way, the pinky out while savoring the taste is the proper way to taste a beer. Yeah right! Cracks me UP!

  • Too funny Brother!! Thanks for watching!

  • Good review!

I also liked pictures at the start!

    Pretty, pretty NM! :)

  • Thank you Red!! I am trying to show people how beautiful New Mexico can be. And I really love taking pictures. Thanks for continuing to watch and put up with my video's.

  • Yeah! New Mexico really is pretty even though most people just think it is a dry dirt desert!

    I like your videos!

Maybe you could review Cutthroat Porter? I know you have a lot of beers on your list to review but this a good one I think! :D

  • Love them shiners, black or regular. Have you had their dunkelweisse? They are pretty good.

    Excellent review Joe.

  • No I sure haven't. But I will have to get around to it one of these days. Thanks for your continued support!

  • Tried it when it first came out. Kinda tasted like Sam Adams. While that is a good thing, preferred the Adams more. That is sad cuz I'm from Texas and I support Texas products. Anyway, a decent beer overall!

  • I really like Sam Adams brews so it isn't hard to get me to believe what you say. Thanks for the input.

  • Oh , have you tried Bass? You will like it!!! Its a little sweeter and tastier!!

  • I have had many many black and tans. Love them, Great choice. Keep watching and tell a friend.

  • I tried that awhile back, its almost as good as Sam Adams black lager!!! Good stuff!!! Shiner is really good!!! Good with a meat and potatoe dinner to really enjoy.

  • Oh, that dinner sounds good! What time did you say dinner is served? haha. This Shiner really is good, Enjoy!
