  • Neoclassical Blues ! :D

  • lol...lololol.... definitely not blues....

  • @mrpootenmir What do you mean? BB King taught me this lick!

  • not blues.

  • How can you hang the guitar so low on your shoulder and don't have any problems with your left hand?

  • great playing but i preffer the plastic pick sound

  • Is that the sustainer pick-up on that strat? If so, why did you install that?

  • Is that the sustainer pick-up on that strat?

  • @TheFigueroa007 It isn't and I didn't :) There are two Dimarzio red velvets and a Dimarzio chopper on it.

  • @wizardofshred the virtual solo (bridge) and two Area 67s (middle&neck) best combo for strat. try it out sometime

  • Scalloped fret board haha no way nice playing man

  • Thiiis sounds...more like a diminished scale...not a regular Dorian, Mixolyidian, or lydian scale, not even a penotonic scale with the blue note.

  • blues?

  • blues?

  • haha you're quite in control of that guitar :-D

  • i just checked out your website, and its awesome! i know what ill be doing for the next couple weeks lol :P. i like all the girls in the layout by the way, they made me laugh :). question: do you scallop your own fretboards, and if so how?

  • mh....maybe thats a blues scale, but thats not blues...and the settings of your amp sucks -_-'

  • a scalloped fretboard , do you prefer that ?

  • @walkerchild69 Yes. It gives me more freedom not to have that wood underneath the strings. Thanks

  • @wizardofshred why dont we see more scalloped boards?

  • I guess the people around here cant appreciate Jeff Loomis style of phrasing :(

  • Hmm, I really don't like the sound. And, I don't see the point... But I guess you are fast, and that's about it... What happened to "feeling"? ;-)

  • @henrikhansson1 There's lots of feeling in this. But it's an aggressive feeling. Just like an upset or angry person speaks louder and faster in order to express those emotions some use speed as a way to express that feeling. That's why metal is loud and fast, because it's angry music :o) And that's why most blues songs are slow and a lot less loud, because the basic feeling of that type of music is more sad and mellow. Thanks for commenting

  • can you scallop an acoustic guitar???

  • @torrid94 Yes you can. But most acoustic guitars have no truss rod so the neck is held straight by the wood only. So it's a good idea to be very careful not to remove more wood than necessary. Thanks!

  • dude, don't call this blues. it isn't. haha still cool but not blues.

  • @melodicdestruction Hi. The term "blues" can be used about the basic notes used to create the blues sound and the basic chord progressions of blues. Since I don't play the style of blues, I always use the term to describe what building blocks I'm using and not what style of music I'm playing. I agree that this lick would sound a bit off if B.B. King suddenly played it. I doubt that his audience would find it appropriate :o) Thanks for commenting

  • blues????

  • Great Lick...

  • Amazing!!

  • @teteroom Thanks!

  • thats some cool shredding. My friend just scalloped the whole neck on one of his guitars (he makes guitars), and i find it hard to play fast stuff like this on it cos it just feels weird.

  • @dwhills1 :-) Try playing it for a week. Then your unscalloped necks are going to feel weird. Thanks for the compliment!

  • @HelloCuteKitty81 Thanks!

  • sounds damn good man. could be neoclassical or blues

  • @utubecenseorstruth Thanks! :)

  • the diminished scale and the pentatonic minor are such a great team

  • @zacdarider Like Batman and Robin :)

  • i like shred better with major, minor, or harmonic minor scales

    pentatonics are icky :/

  • I never could get into the scalloped finger boards. My chords were always out of tune. At least not until the 12th fret. Cool otherwise!

    -Cortez

  • @cortezandthekillers

you aren't really suppose to scallop anything above the 12th fret lol. i have never played a scalloped fingerboard, but it's common scalloping knowledge that it is ridiculously hard to play guitars that are entirely scalloped for most people.

  • @GoodMetalFTW It feels a little weird at first. But if you decide to play it for an hour you stop thinking about it. That's my experience anyway. Thanks for commenting!

  • @cortezandthekillers Because it sounds so bad when you push the strings to hard on a scalloped fretboard, you eventually stop doing it without really thinking about it. Your brain automatically avoids what is not pleasurable and so it adjusts to it over time. Thanks

  • liking the blues claus.!

  • @boonec5 :o)

  • It's sounds very diminished when it's fast. The tri-tones really stick out.

  • @TheTartersauceGuild Yes you're right

  • @antikrist616 It's a funny color. Sometimes it looks daphne blue but and sometimes it looks like surf green.

  • @wizardofshred seems like... cream blue to me

  • That tritone is so powerful.

  • @BeckWreck Yes it is :o)

  • do you have scalloped frets??

  • @safenders Yes. Like'em a lot.

  • Noise..

  • @terryfink Indeed it is. It's distorted and overdriven and moves so fast you can't make out the notes.

  • Yeah! Do an entire song in that style! haha it's awesome

  • @S3bz3r0 Hm... Wacky Joe and the Amphetamines. Yes that would work with that style... Thanks

  • @wizardofshred

first of all this is hardly a blues lick, and second of all is that a scalloped fingerboard?

  • @GoodMetalFTW Yes it is!

  • sorry I've had a few beers in my system, but was the same the lick just in different positions? not that I have anything against it, A lot of licks sound awesome by playing them again in a different position.

  • @predz23 Almost the same lick in three different positions. But I'm following the blues scale on the B-string or a mutated version of it. Thanks for commenting

  • do you know what mode/scale this is is? Would make it easier knowing that, instead of guessing the tones (I'm trying to avoid tab so I can properly learn notation :P )

  • @MapleLeafAce It's an E-diminished arpeggio mixed with the E-blues scale. The blues scale has some chromatic notes in it as well. Thanks for commenting!

  • haha nice dom 7th chord stuff!

  • @wenglish1968 Very nicely observed. But this is actually diminished triads. But the last three notes of a dominant 7th b9 is a diminished triad so your ear does not fool you :) Thanks for commenting.

  • Awesome style. So unique.

  • @Biake22 I salute you. Thanks

  • can u post some sort of fast bluesy decending lick??

  • Hah, scalloped frets? XD

  • awesome

the wizard of shred is my religion^^

  • @larsnienbergmusic Amen brother, amen... and thanks!

  • great Licks!!!

  • @BMW2o3 Thank you very much Miss

  • Your licks, they are so, NEW! Power blues, wonderful genre, and got damn it you play so smooth too!

  • @Soulfulshreddify Wow! thanks. That's quite a complient.

  • like your licks very much. very good playing!
