Question for any NCSHP trooper, on the chevy suburban type vehicles, how come the 2 big rear flashing lights have the blue/red color combo, instead of just blue, or blue and white? Never saw a PD vehicle in NC with red lights, just wondering.
@jsj297 Durham PD had Red Blue combo. actually quite a few law enforcement agencies in NC do.Its usually due to the fact that at one point in time that department was or still is public safety. More than likely there not white because of NC law which states cars can not have white lights to the rear. Plus it may be in part of the move over law for emergency vehicles. Plus you are more likely to reduce your speed and move over for red or blue lights before you do for yellow

usially the suv ar the motor carrier enforcement troopers, they use the suv to carry portabol scales and tools needed to assist with the search of 18 wheelers etc. but yes there are specific cars for commanding officers as well.

I have not actually gone to the school. I just did the physical. And i thing that you have diffrent rooms. and you go home friday evenings and have to be back sunday evening. Im trying to get ready myself so I under stand if you have questions I did to and I still do . Im just glad to help with what I can.
there are a few 21 year olds trying to get on, most every one was young and the main things you need to do is running as far and as fast as you can, push ups, and sit ups as many as you can do in a min. and streaching

I put my application April 2nd 2007 and got word that i was accepted to the november 15th PT test. just make shure that you cross every T and dot every i...... and mention every thing no matter how small it is they will find out and what was small can turn in to a big deal....
people quit all the time for all diffrent kinds of reasons. some dont really realise how long they are really away from there family, some just cant take the high stress, and pressure. There have been storie that there have been Marines that could not make it threw the school. and yes they will kick you out.but that depends on how you act, how you work, and if you have any problems down the road you did not tell them about. 1 guy got to the end and got his car and was kicked out cuz of his past

I love it! My boyfriend is ncshp and im so proud of everyone one of them. My sister just got accepted to the upcoming class, so like i said, i am extremely proud of what they do. They work hard every single day to keep us safe, and more people need to recognize what they do.
Good video. i'm a mississippi highway patrol trooper. i noticed some cars are silver and some are black. is that pretty common in n.c.? all of our cars are identical for the most part. i encourage everyone to search mississippi highway patrol on youtube & check out our cadet class video. we started 121 cadets and graduated 69. it was the toughest thing i've ever done, including u.s. army ranger school. it was a hell of an accomplishment. good luck to you guys that are striving to be road men.
Most of the cars are silver with a black stripe, but they are in the middle of changing there cars to black with a silver stripe. Really its just to throw off people I think....
Im a Police Explorer in North Carolina, with the Gaston County Police Department, and our department interacts on a daily basis with NCSHP, and most of the troopers drive Silver Interceptors with a black stripe, but all cars bought after 2007 now have the black w/ silver coating. along with many special purpose vehicles, i.e. K9, ERT, and high ranking indiv. so its not exactly to throw off, or confuse, but just a transition, although it does help camouflage vehicles on roadways.

This is about one of the best recognition videos for Law Enforcement I've seen. I am proud to be one of the many that feel the want to be a State Trooper, and I am actually considering moving back up to NC from FL, where i currently live now to become a part of the NCSHP...now that i am old enough to join one of the best departments that i know of.
