Yes, there is a powerup to blow up anything (not specific objects, just anything you like) and other powerups include building (build a staircase to reach a higher platform) and restoring (restore a broken bridge). Because the world is so dynamic there are various ways to find the goldfish!
Because this started out as a Nintendo DS cartridge game. But the publisher went bankrupt due to the financial crisis. I then decided to continue the project on my own for DSi-ware.
Besides that, I dont really think it matters much what kind of DS is shown in the trailer, I think its pretty clear what you can expect on the DSi :)
And also, Im planning on releasing a second trailer (including music!) which will definitely show the DSi though! :)
I tried to get a really 8bit feel for the game, I guess I succeeded ;) I really dislike games such as gears of war. And I wanted to make something that really feels like a videogame instead of something that looks realistic and like a Hollywood movie.
If you look at the engine tech demo, you will notice the technology is pretty advanced and nextgen. Especially considering this is a NDS.
Yes i guess, I am fan of 8bit but 8bit isometric...Ehhh, Not my thing. Infact 16bit isometric doesn't look right to me. But i guess that is just my preference, When i get my DS-i i will buy this game to support you :D
I love retro pixelated art styles! Very impressive that you're doing voxels on DS, too. My suggestions would be:
1. That you make it so the skybox parallax scrolls when the camera turns around the map
2. If possible, replace current sprites for objects with voxel or pixel models (by pixel models I mean like the Voxelstein characters. They don't use actual voxels, just regular pixels from what I can see...) and give them animations if possible. The sprites look tacked on.
looks crap
