My dads boss had 2of those that he kept with some other fish in a 250 gallon tank in my dads office building. They always seemed quite happy together and I remember it was always a joy as a kid to go and see Geri's pet sharks.
i agree needs a bigger tank, but all you people in here saying it needs to be in the ocean, i hope you have no pets at all... considering ALL domestic animals were at one point down the line a wild animal.
Look, sharks are pretty awesome. I love marine animals to death. However, this tank is very tiny. a 3,000 gal tank is nothing to a shark. Talk about big fish in a small pond. You should turn this poor lil guy over to an actual Aquarium. Having a shark in the lobby of your office only shows A. that you're obviously shallow and care nothing about the care of others. and B. You have see living creatures as you would an end table... its just decoration. Which is pretty pathetic.
Looks like animal cruelty to me, did you ever get a bigger (like 500 gallon) tank? or did you just let the shark die because you couldn't give it enough room to swim around?
you guys are gonna call me a nerd but i did alot of research on sharks nd they mostly live in shallow areas but they also sed the shallow areas are 4-6ft deep sooo yeah it needs to b deeper
any animal like sharks should be in the ocean. It's selfish for people to think it's ok to have animals hidden away in thier private collection when they should be free and out repopulating thier kind.
If you want a pet buy a dog or cat, if you want a shark display buy some underwater photography.
@Lukethedude What I ment was it is to big but can live in their for awhile, he/she needs a bigger tank but if they cant get one right away the nurse shark can survive for awhile in its current tank, just not to long.
do you even know anything about sharks? first u cant have rocks on bottom your shark will scrach its stomach et infection and die. and then ur shark is gowing to grow bigger than that tank since its probably only 1000 gallons
@vtownHduece no its not, u never know, that thing could turn on u any second and bite ur arm off......trust me iv been biten b4....and it wasnt pretty
shark must be miserable in there, just waiting for food all day in a small tub going in circles...... that thing is supposed to be in the ocean where it is free to roam.
Another former public aquarium worker here. The shark seems to be in good condition, but the tank is waaaayyyy too small. A good tank for nurse shark would start from around 50 000 gallons. And the jäger heater shown in the video really made me crack. There are many shark species that would do fine in that tank. Chiloscyllium and Hemiscyllium species would be fine, and there could even be a pair and the office people could even get to see them breed.
I've always wanted to keep a dogfish as a pet since I catch them every year, they're so cute and facinating to look at. Also the best part is that they can't really harm you like most sharks since they don't have teeth.
holy you need a bigger thank... having exotic animals are really neat to have, but as a responsible pet owner, you should give your exotic pets the proper living requirements.... That tank is sooooo small, i feel soo sorry for the poor thing!

Yes - it's a Nurse Shark. Yes -it will like get to about 9' long But I like the fact that it's in a pond -even if it will eventually need a future home the size of large Swimming pool.
ur all dumb its prob more like 2,500 its round so it is going to look smaller, that is a nurse shark, that tank probobly would have suited better to a brown banded cat shark
