Sorry, but every time people say "____ is the best band ever I get very defensive and assume they don't listen to music of past decades. ( My personal favorite is "The Doors") But I do agree that kol isn't a sucky band and are so high above most modern bands.

I feel what you are saying. I also love The Doors and went through a "The Doors are the best band ever" phase. Not saying it's a phase for you. I love a lot of bands. For now, though, KOL is the band that I can play over and over and not get sick of. My family and friends can't quite understand how I can play them over and over. I don't quite understand it either.

Coburn.... I miss the old kings to. But the thing is... you have to expect it to come. It happens with any band. They become better songwriters, more knowledgeable of their instruments, years wiser, and many many more variables. I mean... they did get more popular with the new sound... but its still not particularly "mainstream." Its not being played on the radio anywhere around here at least. But who cares if it is. Its fuckin KOL. They deserve every fraction of attention they get.

I see your point, but i spent years tryin to get friends to listen to them, then they came back shoutin about "knocked up" et all "its hard writtin a love song, while not in love":Caleb, then dont write one!.."PLAY FROM YOUR FUCKIN HEART!!":Bill Hicks...(true legend) I mean they used to use unique quick drums with rolling guitar riffs, (bassist is still legend;) now they are tryin to be another 3 chord trick band. Trani is a seven minute warranting song, but that 3-line piece of shit knocked up?

Is there anyone out there that misses the old Kings of Leon?....I mean when they had balls and played from their heart? I mean I heard the interview where they said they were going to try change style to become more mainstream acceptable for "because of the times"....and unfortunately it worked. So we may never again get another "Trani", "Genius", "Joes Head" or "wasted time" et all because they aren't radio tunes?
