  • p47paul - you bloody idiot; this is a SOUND CHECK, not a concert!

  • Sounds like Elvis, Little Sister.

  • ZEPPELIN!

  • The Who's version is THE VERY BEST !!!

  • @EMELHAZUR

that's good one too... but imo Mick Green & The Pirates did best version.

  • vince taylor anyone?!

  • Written by Johnny Kidd and recorded by Johnny Kidd And The Pirates in 1960 (UK). Later a hit by Canada's "Guess Who" in 1965, although they were still known as Chad Allen And The Expressions at the time.

  • nice riff so old song

  • The Who's version blows Zep's off the planet. Put The Who Live At Leeds version in the text and you will see hear for yourself. No contest.

  • They should have played this for audiences.

  • VERY NICE

  • Johnny Kidd and the Pirates

  • I know several versions of this song but Who are the original authors ? Led Zep, The Who, The Stooges ?

  • Zeppelin were DEADLY playing the old covers. Check out How The West was Won!

This band had such a natural feel for playing earlier pop and blues, and it added a massive cohesiveness to their sound as a band. Bands today that try to cop the LZ sound don't have the musical lineage!! Even Sabbath began as a jazz and blues act, so people may far underestimate the sophistication of these seminal bands.

  • Great loose version (with great sound) :)

  • Page is screaming cause he's just snapped his ankle

  • I love Zeppelin, but his version is terrible. Is there a Zeppelin studio version or is this it? The Guess Who's is a million times better.

  • @sanfordsson They never recorded it on tape in the studio sadly. And you are right, the guess who's version is better. I was lucky enough to see them at a charity function a few months ago.

  • I CANT HAZ CHEEZBURGER?!?!?!!!!11

  • Whats with the "I cant haz cheezburger?"

  • LEARN YOUR MUSIC!! this was written in 1960!! the seed to an incredible amount of music .. do some reading and learning... Shakin' All Over - Johnny Kidd & The Pirates

  • love how plant says shakin' all over

  • the australian "normie rowe" version from the sixties is the bestest.

  • The Who's version is better. But this is good! Pure rock 'n' roll.

  • fun fact, this is the song that made JPJ tell his dad he wanted to play bass. the johnny kidd version of course

  • Led Zeppelin wrote music for the purpose of representing creative blues, but any music they played turned into something else. If this was a sound check then this is a very well done warm up.

  • Sloppy version, not as good as Vince Taylor's. They musta' been high on drugs. The Guess Who did it better than these guys. The drummer is loud and sloppy on this tune.

  • @johnnystaccata It's just a souncheck..

  • I used to have this little graphic of George W Bush shaking around on my Windows Media Player. This was my favorite song do play with it.

  • i wouldn't say the Pirates version is probably marginally better than the Live at Leeds version. Both are pretty magnificent.

Plant sounds good on this sound check version, too.

  • The Pirate Pirates: Shakin' All Over

    that one.

  • Sorry - but the Who completely Destroy this !!!

  • @GreenhouseEffectGE Thats because this is a soundcheck...

  • @GreenhouseEffectGE you can compare both , cus they are totally diferent

  • @GreenhouseEffectGE amen to that!!

  • it's the guess who that has the best studio version

  • ok jimmy u can haz cheezburger

  • where can i buy this?!!!!!!

  • @jameshamstra sadly you can't

  • It's by johny Kidd and the pirates

  • Amen !

  • Great version. The Who do it well, the Guess Who are even better. Perhaps the "wannabes" comment was meant in jest. Keep the facts in mind: The Who sold 100 million records, had 17 top ten albums, 27 top 40 singles and a successful career for more than 40 years. Not bad for wannabes.

  • Love Zeppelin but The Who's version is better!!

  • @SnaKeEXx

No way! The original track made by The Guess Who is the best. The who are just wannabes!

  • @meyer2911 Uh, yeah. The Who are wannabes. Always chasin' that big dream of success, those guys. Too bad they never quite made it.

  • @hypersquared You clearly are a moron and have no idea what you're talking about

  • @TheBcx4 Maybe you didn't detect the intended irony. I was replying to meyer2911, who called The Who wannabes.

You won't likely find a bigger Who fan than me.

  • @hypersquared My apologies, at first I did not realize the context of the comment..I guess when it comes to the Who I get super defensive since they are my favorite band of all time...glad to see we share a common interest

  • @SnaKeEXx The Pirates version better than the Who.

Also " The Pirates Pirates shaking all over " their new version is just smoking .

copy and paste it , take a listen! It'll blow you out.

  • @SnaKeEXx Johnny Kydd's is the best!!

  • @SnaKeEXx Check out Shaking all over by Vince Taylor on youtube. None's the better.

  • @SnaKeEXx it is a soundcheck . They werent really trying to blow heads off here

  • @SnaKeEXx This is so funny, I just saw The Who's version and someone was flagged for saying THIS version was better. Lol

I think they're both fine. I prefer The Guess Who's.

  • Always second best to the 'Oo.

  • Sounds pretty good

  • It just never ends...

  • the guess who's version is the best

  • @nblBer Agreed.

  • Nice picture!

  • the whos version MUUUUCCH better

  • This IS led zep, but it's from a soundcheck before a gig, so therefore they were not playing for an audience. in fact, this was not even in the set, they just started jamming through some blues stuff for fun. if they were to do it live it would be epic im sure...

  • @occb1987 It sounds pretty damn good anyway! :)

  • @occb1987 still wouldn't be as good as the who's tho ... plants voice simply isn't as good as daltry's esp for this song .. sorry mate

  • This is not Led Zeppelin

  • Comment removed

  • I think the whos version is better personally

  • this version is sh@t

  • this version is sh@t

  • lets surf, beach bound burnout bimbos!

  • sounds like Little Sister from Elvis Presley

  • is it me or does pages arm look about a foot too long?

  • its just how hes bent over.

  • hehe i know,

i honestly didnt think his arm was a foot longer,

  • This is great, but at the beginning it seems like Page and Bonham can't get it going right away.
