i didnt like Sonnen's trash talking in the lead up to this fight ( i thought he took it a little too far) so i was hoping he would get beat, obviously i didnt see his dominance coming but i was so shocked when anderson got that triangle (even though you could see he had been trying to get it in a few times over the fight) i litterally jumped out my chair, it was easily one of the best endings to any fight i have ever seen.
We see a different Anderson Silva every time. I really think he allowed Sonnen to do what he did that night for 4 and a half rounds. Silva was obviously injured, taking nothing a way from Sonnen, but there was no attempt at sprawling. I would like to say that silva was taking a lot of punishment, but he was not cut or bleeding. Sonnen was bleeding from the head and around his eye. This fight should put both of these fighters on another level. We see a different Anderson Silva every time. I really think he allowed Sonnen to do what he did that night for 4 and a half rounds. Silva simply could have thrown up that triangle choke anytime he wanted, it was a sweeter victory for him to wait untill the last round. But when Sonnen rocked Silva on the feet, that part was probably genuine.

What fight were u watching nuthugger below me? Cheal knocked him on his ass not once but twice. Sonnen landed sum 80 strikes while Silva landed 9. Chael sonnen gained a world of respect from everyone, haters may not like to admit it, but he is good. However, I am surprised people think now that anderson silva is some overrated guy.. I think if anything this has CEMENTED his legacy as arguably the best fighter ever. A man in a million could have MAYBE got a submission after taking that beating, if silva had a bad rib injury thats even more impressive seeing as rib injuries limit you so much. A fact after his last fight he wasn't gonna back out even for a legitimate reason because it would unfortunately ruin his image due to the circumstances, all chael had was wrestling and a few really good shots, but smothering u with weak shots 90% of the time doing a flip away from his leg being grabbed talking shit and "staying busy on top" doesn't categorize u as a "better fighter" in my opinion, Anderson silva showed the heart of a champion and pulled a victory. best of all, he showed sonnen

Silva was obviously injured, taking nothing a way from Sonnen, but there was no attempt at sprawling. I would like to say that silva was taking a lot of punishment, but he was not cut or bleeding. Sonnen was bleeding from the head and around his eye. This fight should put both of these fighters on another level. Silva proved he is the greatest and Sonnen proved he is a serious top level fighter.

this fight wasnt luck by any means. its the same reason why chael was winning the fight why he got submitted. hell in that case was every time he hit silva luck? every time he took silva down luck? no. anyway if silva's ribs are hurt of course hes not gonna have his great head movement that he normally shows. i would actually love to see a rematch when silva heals up i think he'll end it quicker

The fight reminded me of the ending of the movie Gladiator. Big mouth Sonnen couldn't beat a broken ribbed champ...that's sad. I have always said that Chael has no power, Silva took those punches because of the lack of mobility due to pain from the rib. AND HE STILL WON. Anderson Silva is from another planet period, I have never seen an MMA fighter this great, what composure to wait for the right moment. Let me just add that he didn't pull out of the fight because of the UFC and it's fans!
