By the way, as an ex insurance worker, I know of a case where a vehicle has been stolen with keys in the ignition but the vehicle was in sight, and the owner of the vehicle was deemed not at fault because the vehicle was in sight. Whilst RM rules and regs state he must lock the van, they're mainly there as a means to get rid of staff. If it came down to it, it could be argued that the van was in sight (you were filming it) and therefore not in danger of theft.

not trying 2 get any sacked if i was would have reported the driver to his/her sorting office . its a video 2 prove that drivers can b watched on cctv or videoed while they r working . if the drivers turn their engines off n lock their doors then empty the boxes n not leave the engine running then it would b easy 2 steal a van. in the past many postoffice vans been stolen because a van was left unattended had engine running then this practice should stop
