I'm sorry, but you can't really say you're playing the song, can you? You have sort of taken a few lines from Hiatt's song and ad libbed them over a simple guitar line. That's not a cover, it's another song.

Your voice isn't bad though.

I've always played songs my own way and always will. My interpretation is what it is - my interpretation -i dont play covers to sound like the original artist. I like to keep them simple and to me thats all this song needs and is how i've always played it.I dont claim to be a great guitarist - i taught myself to play - i'll take it as a compliment that its taken as another song instead of a cover

I'm not saying you need to be a great guitarist. I'm not saying covers should be exactly like the original either. What I am saying is, the naming "cover" is largely wrong in this case. I would've chosen something like "song inspired by 'have a little faith in me'".
