  • После установки счетчиков мы так и делаем, только насадки нет, а просто перевернули крышку бачка, в которой уже есть отверстие...

  • if this technology was incorporated into public urinals every lazy fool would leave the bathroom with his hands clean.

  • Yes, the water is from the house water supply which is not heated. So, really the water temperature is no different than turning on the cold water valve/spigot at any other point in the house. Science has proven that it is only a myth hands must be washed in warm water. Soap and clean water are the necessary elements.

  • This is an amazing idea, but the water supply to toilets is always ice cold.

  • When properly installed, the supply and drain tubes from the sinkpositive sink do not come in contact with the water in the tank. The used water from the sink flows directly to the bowl through the overflow pipe. It is very important to keep the water in the tank clean and we support your concerns with our design.

  • Before I would install this thing, I would want to completely drain and sanitize the inside of the tank, then when I install the SinkPositive, I would want to completely seal the plastic tubing, so that there is no leaks at all, or that the evironment inside the tank does not contaminate the water in the plastic tubing, especially if the toilet sits without use for several days. I would not want to install this thing in an old dirty tank, with old parts.

  • The simplicity of this solution is just AMAZING! This concept is pure genius.

  • This device many years ago that used in Japan...

  • @pkillor they still do...just with no soap.

  • The water that comes from this source supplements the water that goes directly into the bowl (at the bottom of the tank). This is done to ensure the bowl gets a sufficient supply prior to the float shutting down the valve. Most toilets have a "pinching" device that can be regulated to avoid excess water going into the bowl. If regulated properly, there would not be a sufficient supply of water to wash ones hands rendering this "great" idea useless.

  • @bpappas2438

If there is any potable water being used to refill the waste bowl, to form an air seal between the sewer system and your home, it is too much. Having access to the bowl refill water is simply good stewardship. Only composting and out-houses render this product useless.

  • Saw one of these in Japan over 15 years ago. Thought it was the greatest concept than and now!

  • Dirty water FTW

  • Yes, after washing your hands the water should be dirty. That's why the water drains to the bowl and becomes sewer water.

  • Great idea. It is funny how many people think you are using the waste water going out of the toilet when it is actually the drinking water that goes to the tank and is being used to wash your hands.

  • @fancycrow , Yes, it is funny how many people think they are using the "dirty water" after the flush, but it is even more humorous how many people just don't get that the water drains to the bowl not the tank. It's a simple concept.

  • There is a region in Italy where they are trying something similar: gray water is filtered, disinfected, stored OUTSIDE the house and used for some plants( not the ones for food like apple trees).

Its quite dangerous to store a tank of gray water where you take down your pants and it doesn't matter that its the place where you poo.

  • Who wants to wash their hands in piss cold (no pun intended) water? What a waste of money and how unsanitary.

  • that is the best how can i get one ....

  • Cool concept except you have to hover over the toilet while washing your hands and also if you don't close the toilet seat then you're likely to get water all over it after you finish washing your hands and ppl would think you could'nt aim :P (if you're a dude)

  • coooooooooool, so beautiful

  • LOL stumble

  • lower down the selling price....save our world

  • Yeah, I really just don't care enough about water to consider it.

    "You need water to live!"

    And I have it.

"If you ruin water now it won't be there for the next generation!"

I'll be dead. Don't really care.

  • water costs money, do you like money?

  • love that & save the toilet space as well

  • @kamao22

If the generations before us thought like that, we wouldn't even be alive you idiot.

Probably from the US , no?

People like you are the reason your country's fucked up.

  • That is a great Idea!

  • And all the soap scum you have to wash out of your toilet every day? Hair trimmings?

  • You would simply have to clean the bowl everyday, and if you are concerned about soap sucm you are certainly concerned about other "scum" in your bowl, anyway. I suggest you use the bathroom sink as a place to trim your hair.

  • That's good. Or you could, you know, just not wash your hands.

  • I like it but something about it just doesn't seem sanitary but I realize it's just the same water you get in your sink, but still. "This is why Uncle Sam wipes his ass with Charmin 2-ply!" movie quote

  • I actively save water by never washing my hands after i poop.

I save millions of dollars a year

  • As construction industry is pushing gray water for toilet, many existing homes are still using conventional water piping system. That's a great idea to save water.

  • why is this so confusing to people? the water this accessory sink provides is water that would normally not be used. normally, a person would fill flush and fill their toilet tank with water without using it to wash their hands. then they would use their normal sink and use ADDITIONAL water to wash hands. this accessory cuts down on the additional water usage from the normal sink by providing access to the (previously unused) water that fills the tank before it enters the tank. DUH!

  • Now, that is a good question.... why is this so confusing to people? Actually, the toilet is a rather unsuspected complex device. The physics at work are to be admired, for sure. For instance, the used water of the sink drains to the BOWL, not the tank. Think about that, not so obvious, eh? The used water drains through the tank to the bowl, because the tank water is required to be potable, the bowl is not. The sink creates a small gray water system in this manner.

  • Interesting. I did not know that tank water was required to be potable. Why is that?

  • why would u wash your hands with poop water?

  • Hmmm... I give up. Why would you wash your hands with poop water? I don't think that's a good idea. You should check out this sink, it's a great alternative to your method. Really, check it out.

  • idiot, the water you wash your hands with comes from the water supply, then it goes into the toilet to rinse it.

Not the other way around, that would be plain nasty

  • So every time you need to wash your hands you need to flush? I think that's counterproductive to your green goal, because you're spending a lot more water by flushing all the time than by having the sink and toilet separated as they should be. It's a nice idea, but not a nice execution.

  • The SinkPositive sink is an accessory sink not intended to replace the bathroom sink. The point is to make use of a perfectly clean supply of water which is typically wasted each time you flush. Now, accessible immediately after a flush, hand washing frequency increases and water use maximized. It is important to note (for others who do not want to investigate further), the used water drains to the bowl, not the tank. Once understood, you'll wonder why this hasn't been around a lot sooner.

  • No you're completely missing the point. When you do need to use the toilet you will wash your hands after. This toilet will use the exact same amount of water with or without this sink. Obviously you wouldn't use this sink if you didn't first need to flush the toilet. Just use some logic. This type of mechanism would be dirt cheap to mass produce.

It's a great idea with perfect execution...

  • well MOST people wash their hands after using the bathroom. so flush and wash.

  • Makes perfect sense

  • well, the point is to save water, not get less excercise.

  • Isn't the water cold?

  • Comment removed

  • Yes so what?

  • this is how technology and innovation will help us out. GREAT idea. Please keep the good work.

  • I am sure you would have a normal sink as well, however, you mainly use the bathroom sink for washing your hands after using the toilet, this seems like a good water saver.

  • Yeah! ... Dude tells a woman what to do! Good JOB! =) lol.

  • Simply brilliant.

  • For me, the most interesting thing about this video is all the commentors that don't get it. They don't get the value of this device. George Carlin once said "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that". LOL.

  • dLimboStick,

    Well said. Couldnt agree more.

  • that's so simple, yet so clever. it's a space saver too!

  • wow if thats cheap i would like to buy that, thats fucking amazing

  • ....thats actualy pretty kool

  • Save your money and use the toilet bowl to wash your hands. Ya got way to much time to kill.

  • don't be an idiot... it is the water from the tank above the toilet... it is clean and very usable.

  • you drink that shit? lol

  • you can and do. it comes from the same source as your normal sink.

  • lol, but the brownies are in there

  • I was born Okinawa Japan.

I had been thought that it was used by any countries.

But now,I found out why it had been in my house.

Our district sometimes got drought in summer season,so we had been take care saving water.

The reason why this tool was invented is that.

  • Yes, it is a nice concept. Even nicer if you check out the web page and learn a little about it. I bought one from Real Goods and we love it. But, you've missed a few important points. First, the gray water ends up in the bowl, not the tank. And second, they even say it's not intended to replace the sink. It's just intended to make use of an unrecognized waste of water that happens every time you flush. Just watch the video a little closer, too.

  • Nice concept that is worth having in the home. I see a flaw however. I agree with using the used (grey) water to fill up the tank for flushing, but what if you just want to wash/shave your face, brush your teeth or simply wash your hands and you don't have to go potty? Doesn't that mean you just flushed water down the drain to use the sink portion? Also there is no temperature or valve control. Toilet water is usually cold and shaving with cold water is a hard thing for some of us.

  • you dumbass there is a separate sink for that.

    This is just an alternative.

  • i think this is just so that you *wash your hands after toilet use* only! ...

  • We need it in Israel in every home

  • why?

  • this is Awesome!

  • This is very nice...

    I want it too...

Yes give us the place were you can buy it.

    Also in Holland...

    Lot's of inventive's moves!!good luck

  • very nice. And it does not waste water too. good job.

  • Where can I buy one and how can I get a great deal if I buy in large quantity? Please get back to me - I love this!

  • very nice product concept :-)

    let's keep on improving things
