  • I do everything the way he says i use one tsp of nutmeg and mace thoe and i add meat balls to it its so good every one should try it at least onces

  • Mace is an under appreciated spice used in fall cooking. Sounds like the perfect spice for an autumn pumpkin soup.

  • I think what steve meant was maize not mace. maize is corn flour.

  • Mace is the outter husk of nutmeg and is often used in seasoning squash and pumpkin dishes. I see no reason why he would use the less common word maize for corn flour.

  • no he didn't

  • I made this from fresh pumpkins (baked them first then cut the inside out)and the neighbors wanted to try it.They just knocked on my door and said it is the best soup they have ever eaten in their life! They want more so they can freeze it for later. Bravo Steve!

  • Fake!

  • this is a little spicey number and it tatse wonderful thanx man

  • I KNOW STEVE, WE BBQ AGAINST EACH OTHER

  • You must be a wonderful cook - because I tried it using your basic recipe and no one in my family wanted to eat it...including me!

  • This is wonderful! Thank you for sharing your recipe and for all you do-

  • useful!!! makes tasty soup

  • Nice looking soup!! I'm learning with you,'mace' comes from same plant as 'nutmeg'; mace comes from from the red lacy covering on the seed kernel and nutmeg is the seed kernel. A totally different plant but similar concept; 'coriander' (seed) and 'cilantro' (leaves) are from same plant.

  • what is 'mace'? he says word after white pepper. i wanna try sounds yummy! i luv squash soup from pikes market

  • It's a spice

  • but i never heard of 'mace' is that correct spelling/spice? please help w/ final question

  • Mace is a Norwegian/MiddleEastern spice, availabe at stores that carry deep spice collections--ebay, I believe has some

  • thanks soooo much for response. i even did google for spices... found hundreds but no 'mace'....
