Focused in this bird so hard that I completely missed all the "bras and skirts" flying all over the field caused by its jetblast. Had to replay again. LMFAO!!!
For the past ten years Airbus has sold and delivered more airliners than Boeing. Their backlog is currently much higher than Boeing's and they have booked twice as many new orders so far this year. There must be some reasons?
Oh, and in terms of fatal crashes for 2011 Boeing is beating Airbus by three to zero.
Airbus is like the biggest mistake on earth,, pilots are learning to fly,, an airbus is the pilot in command not the pilot himself,, thats why it is not failsafe and that's why i love boeing,, they keep the pilot in charge at any point
@xlegendzx3 I ve got a different version than yours. Have you already heard of pilot errors? did you know that under stress human beings suck at making rational decisions? 21st century is all about fly by computers-aircrafts.
@trechan yep and you also are the 29th american! could boeing be on the wane? feeling sorry you guys. Airbus is way ahead and you guys know it. That thing upstages the still great 747. sorry. Europe rules.
@backpackerable The onboard Fly-by-wire system is shit and pilots know that. Airbus pilots are known for their skills not up to par compared to other pilots because Airbus aircraft give pilots training wheels. If a pilot is a pilot, then he should be trusted with knowing how to fly, not to be guided along the way. Less margin for error? I disagree, pilots are put under a lot of responsibility and are supposed to work under conditions. The only thing I like about the aircraft is pax space.
@trechan Airbus and Boeing are going down 2 different paths. You might be right on the fly-by-wire thing. I never flew any of them and most likely never will. But I get to talk with A330 pilots on a regular basis and they seem to love their aircraft. I get yout point, pilots should be able to perform under strain. The problem is what if a critical event arises for which they are not ready for?as a passenger I would rely more on an airbus. the A380, wich provide its passengers with lots of room
@iloveairfrance Yeah. I caught that, too. I thought he was at max power at the .03sec mark. Then there's more thrust at .08sec, and yet more thrust at .14sec. This is one of the best engine sound videos out there. Even still, nothing will ever beat the sweet sound of fully amped GE90's - it's like an ear-gasm.
In any earlier century, this monstrosity could only have floated on the high seas. But in the 21st, it soars as high as 43,000 feet, at nearly 600 mph, while carrying between 500 and 800 people. Stand in front of it, and you will be flattened. Stand beside it, and you might get knocked down, burned, or deafened!
I think not: the French/British Concorde supersonic liner was the first fully production aircraft with fly by wire.... (first flight 1969, in service in 1976)...and this is not all, it was the first with carbon brake disks, variable engine intakes, etc, etc...a realy flying laboratory at top of the technology at this times...
That would have been cool if those engines had sucked up a few people on takeoff and shot their blood all over the crowd. But since it didn't I give this video an epic FAIL!!!
Wait until the stretch version of the 380 comes out in 6-7 years then it won't look so fat and stubby. Rolls Royce XWB's with 95,000 lb thrust (A350/1000) will power the monster. 700 px without being crammed like sardines. There will only be a few flights from London to NY necessary. Yes, I know, GE fans, that the 777ER has 115,000 Ib thrust engines but they are too heavy for a quad. The wings would need to be substantially modified.
You have to catch it from an angle...diagonally to like this dude! Notice i said dude cuz dis beast is to ugly to be a she. Its smaller sister's A340-3/5/6 are extremely kriss lukin doe.
I know how big those A380 engines are. But they all look rather small compared to that shockingly huge aircraft. It's faintly amazing that something that enormous can actually leave the earth's surface, easily and repeatedly.
@stannywang That would sound logical but is not. In fact, when I flew from Paris to Dubai on Emirates, I just had to wait for 15 minutes to get all my bags. In fact, I've waited for over 45 minutes at Roma Fiumicino getting off a 737...Go figure !!
@MrVielanda WHAT. U crazy. B747-400 CFM-80 aint got sh*t on the B747-400 RR RB-211H/HT/G. Rolls Royce owns GE n PW whenever it comes to noise and performance especially on the 777 and 747. And it looks neat. Trent 500/700/800/900/1000/XWB. LOL. Get to know b

@aussielung i agree. airbus is truly impressive but they need to do something more than build the worlds biggest plane. its about quality, not a flying 2 story building.
@SpartanW98 But I must admit, I so do love flying in the A380. Although at landing I miss the shudder and bumps that you get from some of the older Boeing planes. I think thats why I like landing at Chang'i when your flying in over Malaysia because the steep decent gives me that little thrill I miss out on when touching down.
Like the Beach Boys song: "First gear, it's alright... Second gear, I lean right... Third gear, hang on tight... Faster, it's alright..."

@aussielung i have never flown on an a380, although i sat in one, it was the emirates one and it was very nice

787s are a lot cheaper than A380s...Airbus still has to compete with the 748 variant and the 787 has to compete with the A350.
