It's the same class, and it's built like any other in its class, and a few modern things.

A certain class doesn't necessarily have to be built at the same time. It's officially a member of its class.

I don't want to come off as a dick, but why do all the British whistles sound so little and weak compared to the american engines?

i'v always found british once nicer, american ones to me, jsut seem to low, and more like a groan, well some do anyway,

admittedly the bell whistle on lner locos is a bit to peepy, the added chime whistle makes up for that tho!.

one fine british whistle i think, is the brittania chime whistle, on oliver cromwell, best i'v heard.

from reading your comment seems like you dont know but the engine wasn't being restored it was being built brand new all of the components and the engine itself and numbered the next in class construction started in 1994 and finished in 2008

I would'nt make ant effort to see this loco due to it been a replica and not the real thing. The proper steam engins have history and was lovingly restord back to the way they were. So to me this is just a waist of metal

The "proper" steam engines were new once as well. That didn't stop a nation falling in love with them.

@theinquiziter it's only a replica if it is a copy of another engine and besides saying tornado is a replica because "proper steam engines have history and was lovingly restord back to the way they were", is like saying years ago when a new steam engine was revieled that that engine wasn't a "proper " engine because it didn't "have history and was lovingly restord back to the way they were" plus this engine has made history by being the first br steam locomotive in this century
