HI My name is KAiltyn I am 13 years old And also have cystic fibrosis. I was dignoesed when i was three and have had many struggles through the years. i plan on living my life to the fulest that i can. kids with CF dont always have a bad life just not nessicerily a ggod one. - Kaitlyn
@PitchforkDisney I have finally managed to acquire a new harddrive and have recaptured 11 of the 36 lost hours of footage so as soon as I have it all back online I will be able to continue! :-)
It takes a lot for a brit to be truly honest about their emotions. We witnessed this woman in one of those moments, and it is all the more powerful for it. Made my eyes well up.
@ RTardEntertainment You are right, 3 minutes is not long enough. think of the 23 hours and 57 minutes of their lives in a day, that they are in pain, which you dont see. I suggest you get off of the internet, which I guess you live on, and meet people that suffer, face to face.
But that's not why I came here to watch this video. From a movie making perspective, this movie fails at creating an emotional impact with me - which is all I was getting at. Ill do whatever I feel like on my own time, but thanks for your concern.
For whom then? It would be polite if you would stop continuing this pointless argument. You will however probably still try to get the last word, and if it makes you feel any better, go for it. I, for one, have made my point clear.
In the hope that this clears it up.... The film was made to be a '3-minute wonder' for channel 4. If it wasn't three minutes then it would never have been made at all unfortunately. However I did film to make a longer and less formatted version which includes the full story, this has not been edited yet. RTardEntertainment - I suspect rectify2003s 'get off the internet' comment was aimed at me, and he's not a 'flamer' so I would guess that I have upset him.
Rectify - Apologies, but it had to be 3mins. I do have hours of footage however, and Emily and I share the same friends, we went to university together, and I know the impact not just on her life, but her families life inc her husband and her sisters- 1 of whom at the age of 14 would run home from school every lunch break to feed her & help her, every single day & the chest drains & her friends dying around her. This is just a tiny snapshot into it, to start conversation on organ donation.
@ thelonefilmmaker The " Get off the internet " comment definately wasn't aimed at you. I have great respect for you, and all of your videos, and I know your only up the road from me, in the Uk. I have watched all the videos you have ever made on youtube. I was irritated at the microwave quick comments people make without thinking or actually knowing the correct facts.
rectify2003 - ah, I see! Sorry our messages crossed. And apologies for the mixup - As I know you have only ever been supportive in the past, I suspected you knew someone with cystic fibrosis and that you were upset that I had paraphrased it into 3 minutes, which would have been understandable. I think RTardEntertainment was simply talking from a filmmaking point of view that the story deserves more time to get to know the person and he's not wrong from a documentary perspective. It's just ...
..that this specific edit was never intended to be a 'documentary' rather a viral in documentary form to get people to think about organ donation, wrapped up as a 3 minute wonder.
Rob, I compare Videos and movies to dreams and nightmares. When we have nightmares, we can wake up and many times think, that was close, thank God it was only a nightmare, or if we wake up after a nice dream, we think, I wish the dream was real. Movies, allow us to be Judge and Jury, at a distance of a remote control, whilst during the ads we go amd make coffee, and un-pause their lives.

I'm not trying to be an ass here, but 3 minutes is not enough to make me care for somebody and get emotional for them.
I'm happy to hear about the charity's success, and that she is still alive.

I do think the donor laws should be that everyone will by default donate when they die, but have the choice to get off the list if they want to.
Not the other way round.
But then again I can't talk, because I'm too much of a pussy to even give blood I'm petrified of needles.
