@DramaQueen5588 Hippos are totally herbivorous. They don't have the tooth layout nor the digestive tracts to deal with meat, so eating it is pretty unlikely. They would only do so in times of desperation (or madness).

The video clips were played backwards and forwards and then it all skipped to the hippo returning to the water and the impala is dead. @3325spike Herbivores will eat meat when they can get it. It's a great source of nutrients and they understand that. So, if there's a dead animal near by, a deer will eat it to get nutrients.

@HitfulVids I completely agree with you. This Hippo didn't save that impala, there is no evidence to support that claim in this video. The video clips were played backwards and forwards and then it all skipped to the hippo returning to the water and the impala is dead. Funny how tv shows will make up stories in order to gain more views. This show obviously isn't a reliable documentary.

@liudxdx Croc literally can't do shit against a Hippo. Hippo's on average weigh between 1.5 tons - 3 tons. The crocs weigh between 700 - 1600 lbs. Soooooo, yeah.

This is as bad as the infamous lemmings doc, the film where the hippo is supposedly reviving the impala, gets played forward then backwards with the frame zoomed in as if it were a new shot to make it look like a gentile... inside the mouth hug or something... then the head seems to be missing afterward...
The only one who should hug you with their mouth is your girl friend!

We shouldn't really call these creatures "animals". The real animals work on wall street. They try to f*** us over every day. You'll never see a wall street animal come to the rescue of a lesser being.
It was a great thing to see this hippo try and save the impala, pity it didn't succeed but just remember that the croc was just doing it's thing. It has to eat to survive just as we do. The fight for survival!

@BarclayAvenue yes, that is sad, but as humans we have a much higher level of intelligence that should be used to help each other not cause war, like you said not one bee is left alive, yet with humans some would be kept alive to be raped,tortured, etc. Animals usually have conflicts with each other by means of survival, but humans go to war for selfish, unnecessary reasons. As animals they don't know any better, no one taught them killing is wrong, unlike humans that are taught it is wrong.

One group of chimps will sneak through the jungle and attempt to kill stray members of the other packs chimps along the way, not to protect, not to defend, not to fight for a mate, but just outright kill, in order to scare the other chimps off or dwindle their number and take their trees.

Bogus. They are aggressive challengers by nature and I think that behavior was demonstrated here. There is another video where a hippo steals a carcass from a predator and even eats a bit of it. This announcer comes to the very unscientific conclusion as hippos don't even try to 'revive' their own.
