This song is fantastic! I will say, though, I'm not so sure that people really respond to truth so much as they respond to whatever emotion the song causes them to have. There have been plenty of successful phonies (Bob Dylan) who were able to communicate through a caricature of their true selves. To me, authenticity in music is like Santa Clause in so much as it is a nice thing to believe in, but ultimately an act of pleasant fiction. Art is by nature a conscious manipulation to cause emotion.
