I think when you go down into the passages below the house near that elevator, if you go... right I guess instead of straight he falls out of the wall or something. It's hard to remember exactly.

Theres one more chase you can do if you already have eveything you need. You can run to the baby's room and hide behind the door and stab him with a piece of glas and then run back to his room and take the book

There's more than one place to hide in the crypt. If you use the crowbar, you can actually hide in one of the tombs.
