This is totally fake!!! The Emergency alert system was not activated on 9/11 b/c most of the news organizations had already picked the story up and interpreted all regular scheduled programs. Infact the EAS will probably never be activated b/c in the event of an emergancy, all the 24 hour news services will have picked it up. Most people will hear or know about it through social media website on the news or in text messages.

The events of 9/11/2001 were covered by the news media as soon as the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center. I heard about it at work first on the radio with a news bulletin & then one of my coworkers switched on the TV and the broadcast news networks were live at the scene. No doubt the Feds were in the process of shutting down all air travel once they realized what was going on & informed us through the media news organizations as events unfolded .

@pika23 they really didn't need to activate the EAS. Most everybody knew what was happening as soon as it started. It spread through radio, television, internet, even newspapers. Our paper never puts out a supplement, but that afternoon they were giving them out. Not only did it travel through the US fast, but the world (remember those a-holes actually CELEBRATING the tragedy?) The EAS is to alert people who are unaware. I can't think of anybody who didn't know that day, save for little kids.

And because of this, news became faster than what the eas will ever provide. Another reason was that they were reporting on a gas leak from a school close to WTC. So it was not needed unless the president wanted to talk from AF1 on something even news cameras cannot record.
