I dig this one. Strange grainy ambiance & lighting. This happens to be my fave song by them. I think Jack made this song. Seems like Craig almost messed up a few lyrics at the end. But, I haven't seen my 2nd fave song they did anywhere on YouTube. Anybody know where their "Shelter Of Your Arms" is at?
Hellyeah! You shoulda seen what AJ did at the end of their set on St. Patty's! LOL! Too perfect! Of course, I don't know you or if you were there, so you may've seen it. HEH!
There's no comparison...unless they're going by the 'ol "apples to oranges" both being "fruit." It's "music", with a couple of the same musicians. That's how it's similar.
Greenhornes could only sustain their peak briefly just because they were so explosive and out of this world it's impossible to keep that intensity. So maybe Raconteurs was necessary. Greenhornes in '03...sick!!!
I'm pissed Jack White stole Craig Foxes band. The raconteurs can never match the raw rock n roll of the greenhornes. 2003 the year the greenhornes were in their prime. Fantastic Song.
Satisfy My Mind (lyrics by Jack Lawrence) Be careful with your questions Because I tell no lies Words play no part to satisfy my mind The sun will dry up the rain I need no light to shine Don't need sunny days to satisfy my mind He told you he loved you Well that's just a lie I don't need possession to satisfy my mind You'll have your day And I'll have mine Don't need touch to satisfy my mind Be careful with your questions Because I tell no lies Words play no part to satisfy my mind
Ya, I'm very fortunate to come across this band even though I come here as a pretty big Raconteurs fan, and in only knowing of these guys from that. But this band has real soul that can't be taken away. :)
Little bit off-topic, but does everyone have lyrics of "Lies" by The Greenhornes ?

Why compare the Greenhores to the Raconteurs? They have a similar sound, same genre. So what? Just enjoy the music!

...or they just got tired of the monotony.

What are you talking about? Jack said jump and everyone said, how high? yeah, they are all friends but that`s the gist.

Yeah, I was a little out of line. I still love me some Jackie, don't get me wrong.

I'm not pissed that Jack White 'stole' them. I like Raconteurs. But you're right about the rest.

lol their bassist (jack lawrence) and their drummer (patrick keeler) are also in the raconteurs, with jack white and brendan benson
lhsdeathshadow 3 years ago 4
Yes, they are. As Greenhornes, they make much less money, but much better music.

I'd agree with that ericburkart. I prefer the Greenhornes to the Raconteurs I have to say.
