Nope, after this incident the Tax was canceled (Although in reality it was just given a new name). Not only that, just 8 months after this Thatcher fell from power- this incident is largely seen as the catalyst for that.
actually the poll tax was cancelled. poll tax means each adult gets charged for council tax. thanks to the riots we only have to pay one per household.
these riots will happen again to combat the coming of the new world order (those coming out worse in the financial crisis and the unemployed in particular), but the government are preparing for it and have the british army on standby in case of such an event.

I'm glad this happened to be honest, it showed the fucking tories that the British people have a line when it comes to fucking obsessive greed, and selfish, callous taxes like the poll tax. It's because of this that she resigned - only through drastic action can drastic measures be taken. Thatcher Tried to impose a tax that didn't recognise ability to pay. Thousands refused to pay it and this demonstration against it turned into an out burst against 11 years of Thatcherism she resigned a few months after, she was forced to.

I'm not sure those in power loved that to happen - they need the police to protect their power against us. The press certainly loved the whole circus - they love a sensational story, whoever is the victim.
I agree the police are being manipulated, by the powers that be. They are a tool of the state. But the police force is made up of individuals, each with a conscience, and the cry of 'I'm only doing my job' was the Nazi defence, and is used to justify such crimes as committed by cops at riots

Nope, after this incident the Tax was canceled (Although in reality it was just given a new name). Not only that, just 8 months after this Thatcher fell from power- this incident is largely seen as the catalyst for that.

actually the poll tax was cancelled. poll tax means each adult gets charged for council tax. thanks to the riots we only have to pay one per household.
these riots will happen again to combat the coming of the new world order (those coming out worse in the financial crisis and the unemployed in particular), but the government are preparing for it and have the british army on standby in case of such an event.

it wasnt a way of paying income tax though was it, it was a way of paying council tax, you make it seem worse than it is. why should my granny who lives alone and hardly leaves the house have to pay more council tax than a family of 5 in a smaller house who costs the government more to clean up after?

It was a system used to replace a rates bill on a property.. it was now a tax bill on each person living in that property.
